VIRGINIA BOARD OF NURSING INFORMAL CONFERENCES July 13, 2010

TIME AND PLACE: The informal conferences held before an Agency Subordinate of the Board of Nursing were convened at 9:00 A.M., on July 13, 2010 in Training Room 2, Department of Health Professions, 9960 Mayland Drive, Suite 201, Richmond, Virginia.

AGENCY SUBORDINATE: Jane Elliott, RN, PhD

STAFF PRESENT: Brenda Krohn, R.N., M.S., Deputy Executive Director Cynthia Gaines, Adjudication Specialist

CONFERENCES SCHEDULED: Sherlaker Foster, CNA 1401-105158 Ms. Foster did not appear.

Based upon information provided by Ms. Gaines, Dr. Elliott ruled that adequate notice was provided to Ms. Foster.

A recommended decision will be made and mailed to Ms. Foster within ninety days.

This recommendation will be presented to the full Board; if accepted, an Order will be entered. As provided by law, this decision shall be a Final Order.

CONFERENCES SCHEDULED: Shanna Ferebee, CNA 1401-108252 Ms. Ferebee did not appear.

Based upon information provided by Ms. Gaines, Dr. Elliott ruled that adequate notice was provided to Ms. Ferebee.

A recommended decision will be made and mailed to Ms. Ferebee within ninety days.

This recommendation will be presented to the full Board; if accepted, an Order will be entered. As provided by law, this decision shall be a Final Order.

CONFERENCES CONTINUED: Vanessa Coble, CNA Applicant Ms. Coble did not appear.

Based upon information provided by Ms. Gaines, Dr. Elliott ruled that adequate notice was provided to Ms. Coble.

CONFERENCES SCHEDULED: April Feminella-Hicks, CNA 1401-129214 Ms. Feminella-Hicks appeared, accompanied by her sister, Sheleka Hicks; and roommate, Kendra Beard.

Ms. Feminella – Hicks was informed a recommended decision will be made and mailed to her within ninety days. This recommendation will be presented to the full Board; if accepted, an Order will be entered. As provided by law, this decision shall become a Final Order thirty days after service of such order on Ms. Feminella-Hicks unless a written request to the Board for a formal hearing on the allegations made against her is received from Ms. Feminella-Hicks within such time. If service of the order is made by mail, three additional days shall be added to that period. Upon such timely request for a formal hearing, the Order shall be vacated.

CONFERENCES SCHEDULED: Hurieya F. Morton, RMA Applicant Ms. Morton appeared.

Ms. Morton was informed a recommended decision will be made and mailed to her within ninety days. This recommendation will be presented to the full Board; if accepted, an Order will be entered. As provided by law, this decision shall become a Final Order thirty days after service of such order on Ms. Morton unless a written request to the Board for a formal hearing on the allegations made against her is received from Ms. Morton within such time. If service of the order is made by mail, three additional days shall be added to that period. Upon such timely request for a formal hearing, the Order shall be vacated.

Ms. Walker was informed a recommended decision will be made and mailed to her within ninety days. This recommendation will be presented to the full Board; if accepted, an Order will be entered. As provided by law, this decision shall become a Final Order thirty days after service of such order on Ms. Walker unless a written request to the Board for a formal hearing on the allegations made against her is received from Ms. Walker within such time. If service of the order is made by mail, three additional days shall be added to that period. Upon such timely request for a formal hearing, the Order shall be vacated.

Ms. Gwynn was informed a recommended decision will be made and mailed to her within ninety days. This recommendation will be presented to the full Board; if accepted, an Order will be entered. As provided by law, this decision shall become a Final Order thirty days after service of such order on Ms. Gwynn unless a written request to the Board for a formal hearing on the allegations made against her is received from Ms. Gwynn within such time. If service of the order is made by mail, three additional days shall be added to that period. Upon such timely request for a formal hearing, the Order shall be vacated.
