SB Plastics Machinery : T echnologies for Flexible Solutions

SB Plastics Machinery announces its participation in Chinaplas 2006 (The 20th International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries) from April 26th to 29th at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (Booth: W4N41), Shanghai, PR China.

SB Plastics Machinery, has been, for fifteen years, a huge part of the sector of auxiliary machines for the transformation of plastics materials, giving to customers the necessary machineries and the experience to increase their productivity.

Thanks to its technology, SB Plastics Machinery carries out flexible solutions to any request of production for the Total Control, Treatment and Distribution of the raw material. Specifically, the intimate knowledge of systems and their technologies, allowed to reach a very high level of control and global supervision of processing.

SB Plastics Machinery can supply computerised programs to manage completely all the production parameters, including the maintenance phases, the error diagnostic, the alarms and the reports. The detailed test in raw material and the analysis of the customers’s needs, allow SB to present personal solutions to prepare, process and handle the raw material as well as the complete plan for the production phases.

SB Plastics Machinery offers three divisions of products: The "Blu division" includes all tradicional SB Plastics’s production, continuosly renewed with innovative technical solutions : hopper loaders, dehumidifying air dryers, hot-air dryers, dosingline, conveyor belts , granulators and central installation systems. The "Red division" includes all solutions for the P.E.T. and the high temperature.

Finally, the "Yellow division" includes the software production like, for example, “SWAN” (SB Wireless Area Network).

It is a new system exploiting PLC boards aimed to control loading implants and monophase and tri-phase single hopper-loaders.

Even years after the first installation, its versatility allows adding new hopper-loaders to satisfy eventual production’s requirements as well as any further modification at any time. Moreover, the system permits the connection of 64 PLC boards that can indistinctly act as Server for blower-units or as Client for any single

PLC can be powered either at 230V or 24V. In terms of operativeness of the system, SB has focused on the simplicity of use to make it easier for the customer and to allow precise and rapid operations being carried out. As a matter of fact, it has been foreseen a wireless remote control able to set all the hopper-loaders and server’s parameters and a synoptic for each hopper-loader clearly indicating any working phase at real time.

The program can be modified on request by sending a pocket eprom containing the inboard-simply- downloadable program.

“ Colour” is the new volumetric dosing unit for masterbach and granular additives, showing highly innovative features as long as it concerns either control or the screw control motor and it is principally destined to the compound of injectuion moulding machines and small exstruders. “ Step-by-step” motor, combined with a digital control for the memorisation of recipes, allows a highly precise optimisation of dosage. Moreover, COLOUR is absolutely not polluting thanks to the absence of the brushes. Endowed with an independent electric panel, this compact machine is featured by great versatility and setting simplicity: it only needs the initial setting of the dye or additive percentage related to the mould’s weight. Moreover, the support allows a quick and easy installation on machines.

This new range of SB volumetric dosing units is made up of three models:

‘Colour 1’ for throughput up to 15 kg/h; ‘Colour 2’ for throughput up to 125 kg/h and ‘ Colour XT’, destined to exstruders.

The hoppers can be endowed with a capacitive-level indicator allowing a continuous material level’s control inside them and alarming a possible missed charging.

Moreover, the 15 lt hoppers belonging to the Colour series, are arranged for the FSB monophase and FTB triphase hopper loaders’ possible installation, as well as the FSC-series compressed air hopper loaders. Colour volumetric dosing units are designed to be installed on the new X-series mixers; they produce a homogeneous compound thanks to the peculiar structure of the body and thanks to the rotation of a control swift.

X-series allows connecting up to three dosing units.

As the largest scale in history, Chinaplas 2006 will reach an exhibition area of 92,000 sqm, with participation of 1,300 exhibitors and ten group pavilions from Austria, Canada, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, PR China and Taiwan Province, United Kingdom and USA. There will be demonstration of over 1,000 sets of machines as well as a wide range of chemicals and raw materials.
