Directions: You will be assigned a “Famous Face” from the Industrialization and Urbanization Era of American History, 1865-1920. For that person, you will be making a Glog (online poster), using glogster.com. Please follow the steps below to ensure that your class time is spent wisely!!

Creating a folder to Download Pictures Step 1: Log on at your computer using your WEHS username and password. Step 2: Go to the green start button at the bottom left corner of your computer screen and click on it. Click on My Computer. Find the icon with your name by it and double click. Step 3: On the left side of the box, under “File and Folder tasks”, click on Make a New Folder. You will see your new folder pop up. Step 4: Name the folder the same as your person’s name (i.e. Rockefeller, Carnegie, etc.). It is within this folder that you will save your pictures that you will use when creating your Glog.

Saving a Picture to Your Folder Step 1: Once you have found a picture online, right click on it. Highlight and click on Save Picture As. Step 2: Click on the icon My Computer. Double click on your name. Find the folder you created and double click on it. You may want to rename the picture before you hit save.

Creating Your Glog Step 1: Type in the address http://edu.glogster.com/edu/register/ Step 2: IF YOU ALREADY HAVE AN ACCOUNT: Enter your Nickname and Password under “Already registered?” Click on “Log in.” You might want to record your User Name and Password at the top so that you do not forget them!

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNT or YOU DO NOT KNOW YOUR USERNAME/PASSWORD: Fill in the information under “Register to EDU.” Click on “Sign Up. You might want to record your User Name and Password at the top so that you do not forget them! Step 3: Click on “Create New Glog.”  You must use at least 5 pictures, 4 facts about your person, and at least 6 words/phrases that describe your person’s contribution(s) to the Industrialization and Urbanization Era of American History, 1865-1920.  You will have 2-3 days to complete this assignment. You will be receiving 10 points each day we are in the computer lab. If you are not diligently working, you will lose points accordingly.  You can add videos and music to your Glog...be as creative as you like.  This assignment will be worth a total of 55 points:
