The Preservation of the Scripures

PRESERVATION IS POSSESSION OUTLINE

Psa. 12:6, 7 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. Psa 119:89 For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. Psa. 119:140 Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it. Psa. 119:160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. (Psa 100:5) Pro 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Isa. 59:21 . . . my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever. Jer 23:28 . . . he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? Matt. 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. (Matt. 5:18) John 10:35 . . . unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; John 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. John 14:23, 24 If a man love me, he will keep my words . . . He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. John 17:6 . . . thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. Rom. 3:1, 2 What advantage then hath the Jew . . . unto them were committed the ORACLES of God . . . Rom 15:4 (Acts 7:38 Our fathers: who received the lively ORACLES to give unto us . . . For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Ps. 56:4, 5, 10, 11) 1Cor 2:13, 14 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual . . . 1 Tim 6:3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; 2 Tim. 4:2 Preach the word . . . reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 2Ti 3:16,17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction . . .That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. Titus 1:9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.(Titus 2:8) Heb. 3:7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword . . . and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Jam 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. 1 Pet. 4:11 If any man SPEAK, let him speak AS THE ORACLES of God . . . Heb. 5:12 Ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the ORACLES of God . . . 1 Pet 1:23 - 25 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever . . . the word of the Lord endureth for ever. (Isa. 40:8) 2 Pet 1:18 - 21 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed . . . Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. Rev. 22:7 . . . blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
