Dear Parent/Guardian:

There are only a few weeks remaining before our new school year begins. We hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer. This back to school packet contains important information, and we ask that you read each piece carefully. The most important item I have sent you is your child’s schedule for the 2017-18 school year. Should you have any questions regarding an error on your child’s schedule, please contact the school between 8:00 am and 2:30 pm Monday through Friday, prior to the start of school. All other minor changes can certainly be addressed the first two cycles of the school year. Our office personnel will be happy to direct you to the appropriate person with whom to discuss your concerns. Please understand that we do not honor requests to change teachers or team assignments.

On the first day of school, first period room assignments will be posted in the cafeteria. First period teachers will have a copy of each student’s schedule just in case anyone forgets to bring theirs or minor adjustments have been made since receiving the mailed copy.

Please be mindful that school starts at 7:45 am. Please do not drop students off before 7:20 am as staff may not be available to supervise the children prior to this time. We also require that students leave promptly at the end of each school day unless they are attending a supervised activity. If a student is required to remain on school property after 2:30 pm because of tutoring, sports practices, or clubs, the student must arrive at that destination by 2:40 pm.

Once again this year, we will have students in our school with severe peanut and related nut allergies. As in the past, we have made every effort to ensure that their safety and health are not jeopardized. We ask that you limit the amount of products containing peanuts or peanut butter that you send to school. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us ensure a safe learning environment for students with peanut allergies.

We are looking forward to working together with you to build a strong partnership between home and school. We welcome the beginning of another great school year. We will be hosting a New Student Orientation on August 24, 2017 (see attached flyer). Back to School Night is scheduled for Wednesday, September 6, 2017. In addition, we will be hosting Parent/ Teacher conferences at the middle school level for the first time this year. Please mark your calendar for both November 7, 2017 and January 26, 2018.
