OFFICE OF THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS McCONE COUNTY, MONTANA CIRCLE, MONTANA Monday, March 14, 2016

At the hour of 10:00 a.m., the Board of Commissioners of McCone County, Montana, met in regular session with James Moos, Alan Stempel, and Janet Wolff present. Presiding Officer James Moos called the meeting to order. The pledge of allegiance was recited. The agenda was approved.

The March 7, 2016 minutes were read and approved as corrected.

The Board reviewed the February 2016 Expenditure Report and the Treasurer’s Cash Summary Report. (Copies of the reports are on file in the Commissioners’ files.)

The Board reviewed the February 2016 Delinquent Tax Report with $89,490.65 delinquent in real estate, $1,317.92 delinquent in mobile homes, and $4,921.69 delinquent in personal property taxes.

Richard Sidwell and Kenneth Hamilton, Sidwell Land and Cattle Company; and Maridel Kassner, Clerk and Recorder, met with the Board concerning the Peckman Certificate of Survey with an Agricultural Exemption. The Certificate of Survey was approved and signed.

The Board reviewed and approved the Treasurer’s Cash Reconciliation report for February, 2016.

Commissioner Stempel left the meeting at 11:00 a.m. for personal reasons.

Commissioner Moos reported on the Dry Redwater Rural Water Authority Board meeting he attended on March 11, 2016.

The meeting was opened to public participation at 1:00 p.m.

Ken Nelson, County Extension Agent, met with the Board to discuss fair issues. The Paddlefish Caviar Grant application for the steer barn was discussed. The Board approved the application.

Brian Noftsker, Predator Control Trapper, met with the Board to discuss predator control issues. Brian reported 275 coyote kills from aerial hunting so far in 2016.

The Board reviewed an approach permit on Mayberry Road. Commissioner Wolff moved to approve the permit and Commissioner Moos seconded. The motion passed 2-0. (A copy of the permit is on file in the Commissioners’ files.)

The Board reviewed a petition for a cattleguard on Remuda Creek Road. Commissioner Wolff moved to approve the petition and Commissioner Moos seconded. (A copy of the petition is on file in the Commissioners’ files.)

The Board discussed the bids for the airport hangar with Craig Canfield, KLJ Engineer; Jeff Skyberg, Airport Manager; and Maridel Kassner, Clerk and Recorder.

The Board reviewed the Airport Program Sponsor Certification. Commissioner Wolff moved to approve the certification and Commissioner Moos seconded. The motion passed 2-0.

Allen Rosaaen, South Road Foreman, met with the Board to discuss road issues.

Commissioner Stempel returned to the meeting at 4:15 p.m.

Wayne French, Groundskeeper, met with the Board to discuss the Library landscaping.

Correspondence occupied the Board the remainder of the day.

The meeting adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
