SENIOR CONTENT ANALYST/DEVELOPER SYSTEMS DIVISION

The team works closely with the central administrative departments and ICTS staff.

Apply your technical skills and content development experience in the renewed Content Architecture team in the Systems Division. The team is responsible for delivering technical writing solutions to users of information systems such as student systems, SAP Finance and HR, Third Party System and others, and providing content analysis support for enterprise content management (ECM) systems. Projects could include user assistance and content analysis for ECM collaboration sites, online help for SAP, training and coaching of technical writers, usability evaluations of new functionality, business process modelling, systems information on the web, and consulting on a wide range of ICT and business projects to deliver user assistance and change management solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for: • Designing, developing, indexing, testing, and publishing new or revised documentation • Managing projects with wide UCT impact • Providing content analysis to teams implementing enterprise content management projects, as required • Ensuring quality in content analysis and development deliverables.

Appointment to this position requires:

 A tertiary qualification in a related discipline or extensive relevant experience  Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, HTML editor  HTML and XML authoring skills, and experience publishing to the web  Training, interviewing and researching skills  Knowledge of concepts in information technology, content management, metadata management, web usability and user testing  Knowledge of graphic design concepts, experience drawing diagrams or process flows  Four or more years of proven and current experience in at least two of the following fields of work is required: o Designing, structuring and writing of procedures, process models, policies and reference information for publication o Content management or librarianship o Information architecture, content analysis and/or metadata management o Management and coordination of technical projects with an end user focus o Copy editing, page layout and indexing and/or web page design and content development o Software training or development of training materials in an outcomes based learning context.

The following would be advantageous: • Relevant certifications • Experience with help authoring software e.g. RoboHelp • Experience in XSLT development • Knowledge of ERP administrative systems or system testing • Experience developing online training or screen animations • Knowledge of UCT or another university’s administrative environment

The annual remuneration package for this position, including benefits, is negotiable between R291 599 to R343 018, depending on experience and qualifications.
