3. Summarize the history of the city of Houston and explain how the growth was related to the local ecosystems.

4. Describe the demographic changes that have shaped Houston in the past 200 years and describe the trends which are expected to shape our future for the next 50 years.

5. Explain how our actions on the west side of town affect the Galveston Bay.

6. Define the term “watershed” and be able to find your watershed on a map of the area. Describe the path of water from Westside HS to Galveston Bay.

7. Describe at least four ways you rely on the environment for living and describe “ecosystem services” provided by Houston ecosystems.

8. Define the concept “Tragedy of the Commons” and explain how it might apply to the Houston area.

9. Describe the following procedures and expectations in the classroom: finding out what the homework is, finding out what will happen in class each day, make up work, late work policy, tardies, tutorials, recycling, supplies.
