I am very pleased to offer you a nontenured administrative faculty appointment at Virginia Commonwealth University for the 2017-2018 academic year. This appointment is a full-time position as a(n) , with faculty rank of <RANK>, in the <DEPT>, <SCHOOL or UNIT>. Your salary for this position will be based on an annual salary of $<NEW SALARY INCLUDING MERIT> for the period beginning August 16, 2017 through May 15, 2018. </p><p>Although the appointment offered is a nontenured appointment, your acceptance of this offer does not affect rights you may have under the University Promotion and Tenure Policy in the event you presently hold a tenured or tenure eligible appointment within the University. </p><p>Pursuant to the University’s restructuring of its personnel system, this is notification as provided for under the terms and conditions of the University Policy for Administrative and Professional Faculty and Faculty Holding Administrative Appointments. Should your employment continue beyond the end date of your current contract period, you will move from your current Administrative and Professional (A&P) status to either the new category of University and Academic Professionals or to Teaching and Research Faculty, as appropriate. Your new status will be in effect on August 16, 2018. This transition to a new employee category will involve no reduction in salary.
