Systems Admin, Computer Operations The American College of Financial Services is the nation’s largest non-profit professional educational institution devoted to financial services. The American College, located in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania (just outside Philadelphia) is accepting applications for a Systems Admin to provide ongoing server administration and infrastructure support. This includes daily administration of accounts, server environments, mission critical systems, planning, documentation and installation.
Primary Duties MANAGE, TESTS, IMPLEMENTS AND MAINTAINS OPERATING SYSTEMS AND RELATED SOFTWARE PROGRAMS Active Directory and Group Policy support and administration. MS Exchange, SQL, and Active Directory services and support. Management of company VOIP, voice mail and mobile device servers. Manages and deploys software updates to server and desktop environments.
PROVIDE NETWORK SUPPORT SERVICES Administration of servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, VoIP Phones, MDM, software deployment, security updates and patches. Performs daily backup operations that include ensuring backups are successfully accomplished and the proper disposition of media. Backup support for LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems. Troubleshoot problems reported by users. Maintain network and system security. Manage and maintain Email security systems (SonicWall)
DEVELOPS, TESTS, IMPLEMENTS AND MAINTAINS GENERAL SYSTEMS INFRASTRUCTURE AND APPLICATIONS Develop, manage and maintain disaster recovery including data backup and recovery, and high availability of critical systems. Develop manage and maintain endpoint protection services for servers and desktops (Anti- Virus and Encryption) Manage and maintain Storage Solutions (SAN), EMC Develop and maintain IT services management systems (Helpdesk systems etc.) Develop and maintains patch management systems for desktops and servers. Lead continual analysis of virtual environment performance and availability. Develops solutions to problems and implement solution.
SYSTEM/APPLICATION MONITORING AND TROUBLESHOOTING Provides end-user support via telephone, email, and face-to-face. Take ownership of issues and seeing them through to resolution. Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes. (Connect, Peoplesoft) Provides 24/7 emergency on-call support. Comply with and maintains College security policies and established industry standards.
TEAMWORK/OTHER WORK ASSIGNMENTS, AS REQUESTED Understand role in team for given projects, daily activities and assignments Works cooperatively with other team members and departments to accomplish work. Liaison for vendors, client companies and other IT personnel for problem resolution and upgrades. Creates and maintains good technical documentation. Participate in or lead special projects as assigned. Assists to other team members and departments when needed. Follow up on device related problems as needed.
Job Requirements Essential Qualifications & Competencies Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related experience 5+ Years related experience in Systems Administrator role Large / Enterprise level experience with Administration of Microsoft Server Operating Systems (2003, 2008, 2012), Active Directory & Domain architecture administration, configuration and support, NTFS permissions, WINS, DNS, OS security, and systems patching. SCOM support and administration Experience supporting Microsoft Exchange, Office 365 Experience with enterprise level anti-virus software, virus/malware removal, patch management Experience with system monitoring and using performance analysis tools, SCOM Sound analytical and problem solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively deal with IT and other College management. Sufficient manual dexterity for operation of PC keyboard and other standard office equipment. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to effectively deal with the College’s end users. In-depth knowledge of applicable computer systems and software.
