Apologies: John Hall (Treasurer), Matt Alder, Minutes: Actions Correspondence ALL Town Hall – Invoice received for hire of Town Hall for Big Brass Blow Janet Webber –Thanking everyone for playing at Ian’s funeral together with £100 donation TS to reply Harry Shaw – Invoice for coaches for Manchester – (£920.00 paid in full) Letters issued for raffle prizes for Theme concert – Wendy to follow up WD Nic wants the date for the Carol Service from Sally’s school SW Coleshill Gardening Club – Booking for CYB for 12/12/11 –Decision to accept the booking TS times/fee to be agreed Tim Edwards – St. Mary’s Church 3/12/11 – Decision to accept the booking letter to confirm TS June Upton – invitation to have a stall on the Croft for St George’s Day – Jo to develop & Jo S implement Past Months feedback ALL Very good feedback from the audience at the Mayor’s Charity concert. MD’s Report SF Mayor’s Concert – very good. CYB spoken to regarding the discipline back stage –playing of the piano during the concert in back room. Nick Fennell, Olivia Luckman, Matt Ward - question about commitment. Band to be spoken to at next rehearsal – to remind them that it is common courtesy to advise MD if you are not able to attend rehearsal. Theme concert, Whit Friday March Contest planned. Arrangements complete now for National Youth Brass Band Championships. CTB workshop planning in progress. Posters for Theme Concert to be organized – (Note Fiona has agreed to arrange printing of large posters). Rehearsal Schedule to be viewed and agreed by Committee then issued to band (copy was to have been brought by Sally) Peter Elliott composing March Celebration to play at Youth Brass County Music/CYB – to play together at Bedworth Town Hall 5/7/11? - an article was put in the Coleshill Comprehensive School Newsletter. Visits have been made recently by Music Teachers from several schools recording performances for GCSE’s. Mayor’s Service – Music yet to be confirmed. Theme Concert – to play on the floor with two tier staging – to engage with audience more effectively. We need to confirm if we can get in to the Town Hall evening/morning of Theme Concert if possible. Front of House arrangements to be made. To Do – Arranging music and liaising with Simon for Whit Friday Bass Trombone now purchased from John Packer. MD Fees – it was agreed some time ago to increase but not yet implemented – agreed rise of 10% and back dated to beginning of Band Financial Year 1/10/10 CYB Report No Report submitted. Treasurers Report (See attached) Copy of Accounts received and attached. Very pleased with the monies that are coming in JH at present. CYB/CBB Report Mayor’s Concert – very positive – Hymn to the Fallen was especially good. All hands on deck now for the contest. Everything seems to be going very well. CBB very good attendance levels overall – CYB is a bit hit and miss. CTC Issues BR Grammar School Trust acknowledged receipt of the invoices from the band. This is a new financial year and money will be available in the form of grants for beneficial projects – we need to come up with a new project! Town Council also have grants available – possibly apply for money towards new equipment etc. Bill to obtain further information. BR Elections to be held on 5/5/11 Town Council/ Borough Council to be approached re taking down of posters for Fire and Brass etc. Request that Maureen could perhaps write to the Borough Council regarding this mater – Bill to telephone instead. Bill to raise at next Council Meeting. Posters for the Teme Concert to be going up within newt few weeks. Formal Business Issues: ALL CYB/CBB Contests – Authorisation slips to be e-mailed for completion and return by Friday TS Next Two Months Commitments Proforma for 1/5/11 required for CTB/CYB MA Letter to CYB Parents for this event. TS Whit Friday SF Youth Hostel – email required for commitment to staying. Definite Yes/No now required as deposit of £ 260.00 already paid. TS Theme Concert Program sorted. Half page ad to go into Coleshill Echo TS Boards to go up next week – Fiona sorting large posters. TS Jo to organize Front of House – to make name badges for them as well. JS Raffle prize budget - £50? TV theme related prizes – 3 good prizes WD Steve liasing with Michelle/Ed for Set decoration SF Committee to put up posters after Church Service 1/5/11 ALL Fire and Brass Li Li to be booked again – refer back to Steve to see whether he wishes to contact her - or TS/SF how does the require matter handling?

Procurement Bass Trombone TS Glokenspiel/Vibrafone – to investigate the cost of hiring for the CTB workshop Jo S Web Site WD Once communications are established we need to meet with Darrin – how can we bring it up to date – looking at other Bands’ web sites. Wish list of things we could do? WD Minutes to go on/AGM Minutes to go on WD No photos of children public section and especially no names WD Update history of the band, set up a form of communication WD Issue Guidelines at Engagements Copy to be given to Dave Smith/Simon TS Subs ALL Request that John sends an up to date copy of the subs’ arrears list. Possibility of increasing child subs – needs to be discussed at next meeting.
