School Data Clerk - Guidance

QUALIFICATIONS 1 High school diploma or equivalent or special diploma required. . 2 Training in the use of computers . 3 Type at 35 correct words per minute. . 4 Valid Florida Driver License. .

Job Goal

To assist certified personnel in achieving instructional goals through active participation in curricular activities and supervision of students.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Demonstrate the ability to type at a prescribed rate of speed. Have knowledge of Business English, Spelling, Punctuation and Arithmetic; knowledge of office practices and procedures. Ability to make decisions in accordance with rules and regulations and to apply these to work problems; ability to make arithmetic computations accurately with reasonable speed; ability to compose routine letters and memoranda; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Assist with state and county standardized testing. 2. Maintain records as required. 3. Coordinate activities and programs as required by the Guidance Department. 4. Show sensitivity to students, parents, and community. 5. Perform other duties as assigned commensurate with the skills and abilities of the position. 6. Provide outstanding customer service and use positive interpersonal communications skills. 7. Make all decisions and perform all tasks in accordance with Brevard Public Schools’ Organizational Values. 8. Ensure compliance with Board rules and applicable federal laws and regulations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS Light Work: Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects.
