Course Description: Mixed chorus is primarily a performing group. The ensemble not only performs at school programs, they also participate in solos and ensembles at district contest. In class the students learn correct vocal technique, basic theory, improvisation, small ensemble technique and sight-reading. They will also be exposed to music from various styles and time periods

NOTICE TO MIXED CHORUS STUDENTS AND PARENTS/GUARDIANS High school mixed chorus students are provided with a syllabus explaining classroom expectations and procedures for the course. By signing this form students and parents/guardians state that they have read the syllabus and will abide by the contents therein, including but not limited to the performance and grading policies.

Students in high school mixed chorus will be photographed, filmed, and/or audio-recorded at various times during the year. The pictures and tapes may be broadcast on television or cable, used for school functions, appear in a newspaper, newsletter, or magazine, posted on the school’s web page, sold for profit, and/or used for instructional purposes. By signing the district AUP form, permission is already granted for these and other activities. This form provides additional support and awareness.
