9.7 CALHOUN COUNTY

9.7.1 SYSTEM SUMMARY

Calhoun County will be a type 1, 9-1-1 system consisting of one PSAP serving Calhoun County and portions of Jackson County. The PSAP will be located in the Sheriff's Department in Blountstown. Dedicated transfer lines will interconnect the PSAP with six safety agencies. Calls from the portion of Calhoun county that is not a part of the Calhoun County 9-1-1 System will be handled by the Gulf County 9-1-1 PSAP. Likewise, calls from the portion of Jackson County served by the Calhoun County 9-1-1 System will be handled by the Calhoun County 9-1-1 PSAP.

9.7.2 SYSTEM MANAGEMENT

The Calhoun County 9-1-1 System will be managed and operated by the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office. The responsible fiscal agent will be the Board of County Commissioners.

9.7.3 INTERLOCAL AGREEMENTS

Table 9.7-3 shows the required interlocal agreement for Calhoun County. Typical interlocal agreements are shown in the Appendix.

Calhoun County Gulf County An interlocal agreement is required to define the call handling method and routing of each type of call received from Calhoun County citizens at the Gulf County 91 Center located in the city of Port St. Joe.

Calhoun County Jackson County An interlocal agreement is required to define the call handling method and routing of each type of call received from Jackson County citizens at the Calhoun County 9-1-1 Center located in the city Blountstown.

Calhoun County Bay County An interlocal agreement is required to define the call handling method and routing of each type of call received from Calhoun County citizens at the Bay County 9-1-1 Center located in Panama City.
