NO NOTHING! Donald R. Fox November 2004
“Let me summarize my views on what modern evolutionary biology tells us loud and clear … There are no gods, no purposes, no goal-directed forces of any kind. There is no life after death. When I die, I am absolutely certain that I am going to be dead. That’s the end for me. There is no ultimate foundation for ethics, no ultimate meaning to life, and no free will for humans, either.” – Provine, W.B. (professor of biological sciences at Cornell University), Origins Research 16(1), p.9, 1994.
According to Professor Provine, “there is no ultimate foundation for ethics,” Webster defines ethics as “the study of standards of conduct and moral judgment.” The above W. B. Provine quote proves the gloom of atheism and the evolution theory. It is a “no nothing” outlook on life. No purpose, no goals, nothing but despair and a godless view of mankind. What a terrible, dark, dismal way to look at life.
It would be one thing if a person did not believe in God, life after death, etc. However, to state that there is no ultimate foundation for ethics, this is wrong. This belief that there are no ethical standards carries with it a host of problems that extend to all of us and is far reaching. The civilized world would crumble if the “no nothing” thinking became the norm for mankind.
If no standards for ethical behavior, them there are no fixed law condemning crimes against mankind. Fatalistic atheism proves once again they have embraced the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche and his school of destructive thought, along with a host of other “no nothing” teachers of gloom. This ungodly theory of no fixed standards cannot be right!
The halls of history rings clear and true that this “no nothing” philosophy cannot stand. The Nuremberg Trails after WW 2 proves that a “higher court” binds men. There are standards to determine right/wrong. I will stand; obey the true standard, the Word of God. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; That the man of God, may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” (2 Timothy 3:16, 17)
