Graduation Innovation Team (GIT) Meeting Thursday, June 22, 2017 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm

GIT Committee Charge: To work collaboratively as a unified and coordinated cross-divisional team of faculty, staff, students, and administrators to increase our 6-year freshmen graduation rate to 60% by 2020, and eliminate the achievement gap while sustaining a high quality degree. (Strategic Plan 2014-2020, Goal 2, Objective A) CSU CO Graduation Initiative 2025 Key Objectives As of September 20, 2016, Graduation Initiative 2025 established a series of ambitious objectives, including:  Increasing the six-year graduation rate for first-time freshmen to 70 percent  Increasing the four-year graduation rate for first-time freshmen to 40 percent  Increasing the four-year graduation rate for transfer students to 85 percent  Increasing the two-year graduation rate for transfer students to 45 percent

Pay It Forward Award Registration process:

1. Student meets with major advisor to review conditions and expectations of the Pay It Forward (PIF) Award Program. Together they will review and sign the PIF "Statement of Commitment" contract and the CEIE Pay It Forward (PIF) registration form 2. Completed PIF forms will then be sent electronically by GIT advisor to the Graduation Specialist, Laney Renee Kurator, who will then verify PIF nomination approval and submit to Extended Education (email: [email protected]) for enrollment 3. ANY holds outside of GH (Graduation Hold ) must be removed PRIOR to the registration form being received by the CEIE 4. All registration forms will be handed to Christina Baltazar for payment processing 5. CEIE will send a weekly master roster of all PIF students that have been enrolled by the college in summer courses.

CHHSN – 37 students denied Common Issues - Missing general education - Missing GWAR - Students taking major courses at a community college - Not passing major courses Missing Requirements - GWAR – 2 students - Potential Financial Burden (and 1 class or 1 unit) – 3 students - Potential Reactivations - ? students - Potential Readmits – 3 admits Plans of Action - 16 plans created so far

COE – 3 students denied Intervention - All 3 contacted via text, phone, email but have not responded back to Jheri

CBAPP – 58 students denied Intervention - Working with 6 students to change their graduation date to Fall 2016/Spring 2017 o 4 students have responded back o Deadline date is February 17th, 2017 to change to Fall 2016 o Cashiers will charge students the $10 on their account so that paperwork can be submitted.

CNBS – 61 students denied Intervention - 4 students’ degrees have already been awarded - 4 ARRCs have been submitted to clear outstanding GE requirements - 2 students are completing final courses at area community colleges - 7 students have been contacted about elective units - 47 need intervention from the major/minor department

CAH – 35 students denied Intervention (Student Success Center, College Specialist, & Departments are working together) - 14 Calls/Emails - Plans of Action created for all students - Change of Graduation Date forms submitted - 1 degree posted

Records and Registration Support for Spring 2016/2017 and Summer 2016/2017 Graduation Denials

Official data reporting is done by Institutional Research. 5 For Change of Graduation Forms - Advisors can sign the Change of Graduation date form and electronically submit them to Records and Registration via email, provided the following process is followed in order to account for the $10 fee. o The Advisor submits 1 email to [email protected] and Cristina Marcale, [email protected] (approved staff person per Cecilia P.). The content of the email is the scanned pdf of a change of graduation date form, signed by the advisor because the student is out of the area or unable to come to campus during business hours. o Student Financial Services will place a $10 Change of Graduation date fee on the student’s account, which will enable the student to pay online. o Graduation will change the graduation date for the student. Thank you to Records and Registration for continuing this practice as we seek to find a tech friendly solution!

Email was sent to the 7 students that were denied a Fall 2016 graduation, the breakdown is as follows, and the Graduation Specialist has a list of those students for the 3 colleges.
