CatholicMom.com Mass Worksheet Celebrating Our Catholic Faith
Sunday, November 23, 2008 – Our Lord Jesus Christ the King Worksheet for ages 11 to 14 years old
1. What day is it, today, in the Catholic Church’s calendar?
2. From which book of the Bible is the first reading?
3. From which Psalm is the Responsorial?
What, in your own words, does this Psalm mean?
4. From which book of the Bible is the second reading?
5. From which book of the Bible is the Gospel reading?
Who are the “sheep” and the “goats” in this reading?
Jesus listed 7 things that the sheep did which earned for them a place in Heaven. What were these 7 things?
The Church teaches that there are 7 Corporal Works of Mercy, or kind acts that we should do for others. These are based on that Scripture passage:
1. Feed the hungry. 2. Give drink to the thirsty. 3. Clothe the naked. 4. Shelter the homeless. 5. Visit the sick. 6. Visit the imprisoned. 7. Bury the dead.
How can you perform these works of mercy? (For example, you probably don’t visit prisoners, but you can help in other ways like praying for those in prison ministry, or sending them money or rosaries.)
Pick one or two of these, and make an effort to do them, this week.
6. Have you ever thought of Jesus as your King? In what ways is He like a King?
7. Last week did you think about the gifts and graces that God has given you, and how He would like you to use them?
