Christian Education Dr. Sharon Knauls

The purpose of the Christian Education Ministry is to do the work of the Great Commission as given in Matt 28:19, 20. It is the ministry of the church that gives fundamental support to all other ministries of the church. The Christian Education Ministry seeks to impart life-changing knowledge of God to individuals of all ages, so that the Kingdom of God is Advanced through Salvation, Liberation, and Restoration with Excellence. We glorify God by teaching from the Bible and other supporting materials. It is our prayer that participants will learn through structured study about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and, therefore, live a victorious Christian life. Intercessory Prayer Ministry Min. Michelle Wright

As we strive toward Advancing the Kingdom of God through Salvation, Liberation, and Restoration with Excellence, the mission of the Intercessory Prayer Team is to Intercede, Encourage, Inspire and Connect people to Christ through Prayer; with the intent of initiating a lifestyle of prayer through relationship with God. We are also committed to providing continuous prayer coverage and support for the needs of our Pastor, our Leadership, Church Body and Community.

The New Members Ministry Mission Statement is "to perpetuate spiritual growth and church assimilation through teaching, guidance, and fellowship". The purpose of the Spiritual Enrichment Hour Ministry on Sunday mornings is to guide families and individuals of all ages, through structured classes, to learn more about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is our goal that having fundamental knowledge of Who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him facilitates a life-changing experience that Advances the Kingdom of God through Salvation, Liberation, and Restoration with Excellence.

Vacation Bible School Dr. Sharon Knauls

The purpose of the Vacation Bible School Ministry is to lead families and individuals of all ages, through worship and fundamental Bible study lessons, to knowledge of and faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is our goal that by engaging people in the Gospel annually during vacation time, in an atmosphere of compassion and fellowship, that we Advance the Kingdom of God through Salvation, Liberation, and Restoration with Excellence.

Events Ministry Macheria Elmore

The Events Ministry mission is to advance the Kingdom of God by helping other ministries plan church events that are spiritually and educationally motivated. We strive to plan events that will express Second Calvary’s love for God. We will do our best to make every event excellent, pleasing and acceptable unto God. Family Care Ministries

Married Couples Ministry Deacon Proctor and Carolyn Roddey

The Married Couples Ministry seeks to help couples grow with love and unity. The marriage ministry mission is bring each couple to honor a loving covenant relationship between each other the way God intended; through prayer, love, fidelity, and support for each other.

Seniors Ministry Lillie Matthews

The Seniors Ministry seeks to improve and maintain the physical and spiritual health of each senior. We seek to bring fulfillment through craft and fellowship with other seniors. Women of Purpose (Women’s Ministry) Evangelist Valerie Weeks

The Women’s Ministry seeks to meet the needs of the total woman and the issues they face by providing Biblical studies for spiritual growth. Through our studies we aim to become more like Christ. Our desire is for each woman to have self-love, self-esteem, and to develop true friendship. We seek to allow each woman to nurture their spiritual gifts to benefit the body of Christ and surrounding community. Fine Arts Ministries Candra Davis

The Mission of the SCBC Fine Arts Ministry is to honor the Lord with the creative arts gifts and talents He has given us to further the Kingdom. We strive to honor God through effectually ministering through dance, drama and pantomime. Our goal is to help usher and create an atmosphere welcoming the Holy Spirit; inspire Praise & Worship; encourage and equip the believer in Christ as well as bring others into the Kingdom of God. The Fine Arts Ministry seeks to use the vehicles of dance, drama and pantomime to communicate the Word of God in a relevant way to people of all ages. All areas and facets of the Fine Arts ministry are equally important and we are dedicate in creating an atmosphere where individuals can learn about Fine Arts, grow spiritually and use their gifts and talents to ultimately glorify God. The Fine Arts Ministry is comprised of 3 areas of Ministry: Judah Liturgical Dance Ministry, Drama Ministry and Mime Ministry.

Liturgical Dance Ministry Vahisha Steadman

The Judah Liturgical Dance Ministry serves to advance the Kingdom of God by exemplifying the joy of salvation, demonstrating liberated worship, and illustrating restoration through dance and expressive movement; as we can only dance through our connection with God. All of this is done with excellence as no other standard is an option. As a collective, Children/Mothers/Daughters/Sons of Judah, our purpose is to worship God through dance and expressive movement, usher in the Holy Spirit during worship services, and provide another medium through which God’s Word is made plain.

Drama Ministry Deborah Williams

As children of our Heavenly Father, our mission is to use our dramatic talents and gifts to help our church family and others connect to the word of God through religious and comedic experiences. These experiences & teachings glorify God by providing an additional outlet through presentations such as plays, skits, monologues, choral readings recitation and other dramatic presentations. The Drama ministry has several annual presentations such as Dinner Theatre, Christmas and Easter productions which foster opportunities for members to minister the Word of God through creative dramatic arts. Our mission is to use the gift of pantomime to magnify the Lord and minister to God’s people through expression, emotion and body language without any spoken words. This ministry uses the power of body movement and gestures to express love, adoration and honor for the Lord. Our goal is to use the art form of mime to minister & bless others as it opens their imagination to witness His Word materialized visibly. Our objective it to further enhance the worship experience as a way to prepare hearts of the others to receive the Spirit of God and to give glory and honor to Him through praise. The Mime ministry’s use of silent physical interpretation and body movement desires to touch various ages through convincing non-verbal communication techniques. Marketing/Media Ministry Alex Jones

Audio Ministry Robert Harris

The purpose of the SCBC tech team is to create an atmosphere that lends itself to the clear delivery of the gospel of Jesus Christ whereby each attendee can and will experience and encounter the living Lord, Jesus Christ, who manifests Himself through the Holy Spirit among the people of God and to provide the best quality sound by doing and presenting all church functions with excellence. We have to be at all functions that creatively and visually promotes the SCBC ministry through audio and video (future) productions. The outcome then being that thru prayer, music, giving and preaching we will exalt Him, aggressively seeking the lost and encourage the redeemed in the flow of the worship experience.

Historical Archive Ministry Deola Wilson

It’s our mission to provide Second Calvary Baptist with historical contents from the past to our present. We strive to collect and preserve the historical documents of pivotal moments in the life of SCBC. We also maintain and protect all past records and documents of SCBC. The items we collect are photographs, newspaper clippings, tapes, literature, obituaries, programs, and any artifacts related to the history of SCBC.

Information Technology Ministry Deacon Kenneth Elmore

Our mission is to help all ministries and the surrounding communities advance the Kingdom of God by using the most up to date technology available to mankind. We keep all computers updated with appropriate software and fix any software problems. We provide training for SCBC members on Microsoft applications. Internet-web-site/calendar

The website will be used to reach out to the world (Matthew 28:19). We will use the web as another form of evangelism. We will use the website to inform others about our ministries and services times. We will use the website as a tool for people to read their bibles and find information to help them study the word. We will use the website for people to listen to sermons, submit prayer requests download songs to mp3’s and purchase merchandize. We will use the website for members to view church calendar, announcements, and our E-Weekly.

Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Constant Contact, Marketing, Photography and Flicker)

Social Media mission is to help the church effectively and efficiently communicate its message. Social Media Ministry strives to communicate to the church by way of bulletins, mailings, phone calls, emails, face-to-face conversations, television, radio etc.... We aim to connect the community. Through our social media ministry we will be in constant connect with one another and we will be able to share the life of Second Calvary on a broader scope. Outreach Ministries

The Evangelism Ministry seeks to exalt Christ through evangelizing to the Lost. We seek to educate the community about the love of Christ. We seek to leave educational resources that will help each convert or person we come in contact with.

The Mission Ministry is built around Matthew 28:19-20 “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Therefore we are committed in Christ to reach out and minister to the physical, emotional, spiritual, and economic needs of those who are in need. The Adorning Ministry mission is to enhance the beauty of the interior of the church seasonal, and for any events that requires specific decorations for the occasion.

Culinary Ministry Janis Hall

The Culinary Ministry mission is to serve the Church by managing all kitchen related activities. We accomplish this through planning, coordinating and preparing meals for church and ministry events. The goal of the Culinary Ministry is to serve with excellence. The Culinary Ministry oversees the Church's kitchen and dining areas. We plan menus, prepare and serve food for church wide events. We also help other church ministries with their culinary needs for their programs and ministry event.The Culinary Ministry also has members that provide the table setting and decoration of the fellowship.

Greeters/Hospitality Ministry Enlois Neal

The Greeter's Ministry at Second Calvary Baptist Church is committed to greeting our visitors and members with a heartfelt welcome, providing them with assistance as needed, and creating a warm and inviting atmosphere reflective of God's love to ensure a positive and enjoyable worship experience. To greet our visitors and members with a friendly handshake and a pleasant smile reflective of God's love. We are driven to assist our visitors and members with their special needs and provide them with information regarding church -related inquiries.

Health Ministry Hattie Griffin

The health ministry of Second Calvary Baptist Church is built on the principles of God’s word… “I Beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” (Romans 12:1) We provide opportunities for our congregation to experience spiritual growth through healthy living and wellness. The health ministry provides emergency response to meet our congregation needs during morning services and weekly ministry activities. To ensure our congregation with the best knowledge of health care concerns we provide health fairs, blood drives, and health tips throughout the year. Security Ministry Larry Carson

The security ministry provides protection for the SCBC church family. We strive to ensure a safe environment while worshippers are worshipping. We monitor the church facilities and parking lots during worship services and weekly ministry activities. We provide direction of traffic to ensure SCBC members are able to enter and exit the premises with excellence.

Transportation Ministry William Black III

The mission of the transportation ministry is to afford anyone in need the opportunity to attend worship on a weekly basis. In doing so we seek to provide timely and courteous door to door round-trip transportation to and from Sunday worship services when requested. Additionally we seek to assist the other ministries in providing them with a safe mode of travel to and from church and ministry events.

Ushers Ministry (Men, Youth, Women) Maude Sartor

The Ushers Ministry mission is to promote the divine worship of the Church. As the door keeper of the Lord’s house we serve with gladness in making sure each worshipper is assisted with excellence. We believed that if we serve with efficiency and with excellence we can eliminate any discomfort a worshipper may have when they come to worship. Our goal is to assist in the mission and vision of SCBC in maintaining an atmosphere of advancing the kingdom of God. This is accomplish by maintaining a welcoming spirit, by providing hospitality to visitors, friends, and members of our church.

Music Ministry- (Mass, Men, Youth) "Going forward with continuous praise and worship for the Kingdom of God through the art of ministering through music with excellence."

The Music Ministry mission is to provide an atmosphere of worship through music. To equip the body of Christ with songs that will transition them into the very presence of the Lord. The Music Ministry provides an attractive image of God to those who have never experience the presence of the Lord through their praise and worship unto Him through music. The Music Ministry is a vehicle of evangelism where we bind our hearts to God that people will see Him in His beauty.

Youth Ministries Felicia Perkins-Youth Director

The Youth Ministry aim is to develop our youth into becoming 'Mature Youth in Christ'. So they can be equipped to advance the kingdom of God. We also seek to prepare our youth for Life in Christ, by developing the whole person through education, discipleship and evangelism, whole providing healthy ministries through worship and recreation.

Adult to Youth Male Mentoring Program (boys group) Doug Vincent

The purpose of this ministry is to provide adult male role models and social support to young males of Second Calvary in the form of a mentoring program. The Adult male to young male mentoring program exists to provide Christ centered support to the young males of the church. This ministry will develop programs that encourage and help the young men to reach their full potential.

Girls Group Alexis Patton

The purpose of the young woman’s ministry in light of the mission of SCBC is to develop young woman in to true woman of God by teaching them biblical principles that is applicable to their daily walk. Our goal as leaders is to lead by example and to promote moral values, self-esteem, self-respect, and discipleship. Our objective is to 'Prepare our youth for Life in Christ, by developing the whole person through education, discipleship and evangelism, while providing healthy ministries through worship and recreation.

Nursery Ministry Kialee Bradley

Our purpose is to help each child experience a loving, sharing and Christian atmosphere. To help each child to develop a sharing, loving, and giving attitude. To help each child learn age appropriate verses, to hear bible stories to aide in them to become more like Christ. We seek to ensure the safety and well-being of all babies, to prevent any unfortunate misunderstanding or accidents, and to maintain consistency and expectation for babies, parents, and workers. We will adhere to all health rules, keep an environment where babies will be safe and happy, and uphold all requirements to be a volunteer within the nursery ministry. “Our objective is to develop an environment where the Love of Christ is felt. To guarantee, to every parent that their child is in a place where the fundamentals of Christ is shared in a pleasant way.” “…Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." SCBC Superior Step Ministry Alexis Patton

The Superior Steppers is a ministry of young boys & girls ages 7-17 that are learning to love God and live for him daily. This ministry will show that God is real and that he can be praised through more than traditional ways. The expression of the young people’s love for Jesus synchronized hand and feet motions, outstanding arm precision, and various scripture recital will bring more enlightenment to the description of the Word. To uplift, enlighten and motivate young people by providing them another outlet to be involved in their church and community. We will accomplish this by providing a free performing arts program known as Stepping that will guide them towards spiritual growth, leadership, creativity, and community outreach. We will encourage one another promote spiritual awareness and word application. This ministry will teach the youth how to use their body in a rhythmic motion to send a positive message of strength, unity and cultural identity with focus on God at all times.
