Abstract (Times New Roman size 11, Bold, left-aligned, single spaced, 20pt before and 10pt after)

Abstract text style should be Times New Roman 10, with single spacing, Fully Justified, 0pt before and 10pt after each line. The abstract of your paper should not be longer than 250 words.

First Level Heading (Times New Roman size 12, Bold, left-aligned, single spaced, 20pt before and 10pt after)

The body of the text starts here. Full conference papers should be no longer than 5,000 words (including abstract and references). Papers will be double blind peer-reviewed. Please ensure author(s) names are removed from both within the text and the properties of the document. Papers should be submitted in Word format (.doc or .docx). Please use Australian English.

Body text is Times New Roman size 11, single spaced, 0pt before and 10pt after each line. Margins are 2.54cm all around. Body text is to be Fully Justified for main text, and Left Aligned for headings. Please use normal capitalisation within the text. Please use Italics for emphasis, not bold face or underline.

In-text citations should be in the format (Author, date; Author & Author, date), with multiple sources separated by semi-colons. Direct quotations (including from interviews) should be placed within double “quotation marks” (Author, date, p. number), with the in-text citation directly following the quote and including the relevant page number(s), if applicable.

Direct quotes of more than 40 words should be indented from the text by 1cm on both left and right margins, with quotation marks omitted (Author, Year, p. number).

Use of author name(s) within the text should be immediately followed by the year of publication in parentheses (ampersands – ‘&’ – should only be used when works by multiple authors appear in parentheses, not when names are given within the text itself). When referencing a work by three or more authors, list all authors when first cited, and then use the first author’s name followed by et al. for all subsequent citations. Multiple works by an author(s) in the same year should be differentiated with the use of alphabetical suffixes, for example: (Smith, 2004a).

Please avoid the use of footnotes and endnotes. Do not include headers, footers, or page numbers. Please do not refer to page numbers in your text. If necessary, refer to section headings. Subheadings should be formatted as follows:

Subheading 1 (Times New Roman 11, bold, left-aligned, single spaced, 20pt before and 10pt after)

Text continues normally after subheadings. Times New Roman size 11; single spaced; Fully Justified; 0pt before, 10pt after.

Please avoid the use of any further levels of subheadings.

Bulleted lists may be used, where the style is:

 Left-aligned, single spaced text;

 First-line indent is 1.27cm, and hanging 0.63cm.

Please avoid the use of numbered lists. Text continues normally after bulleted lists.

Tables should be numbered consecutively throughout the paper and explicitly mentioned in the text (for example: see Table 1; as highlighted by Table 1). Tables should be set as ‘Auto-fit to contents’ and centred on the page.

Please insert images into the text where you would like them to appear.

Notes on style and content

Please write in a straightforward style, avoiding long or complex sentence structures. Explain all acronyms at first use – for example, Telecommunications Journal of Australia (TJA). Please explain all local references and technical terms. These considerations will make your paper suitable for as broad an audience as possible.

Acknowledgements (Times New Roman 11, bold, left-aligned, single spaced, 20pt before and 10pt after)

If you wish to make acknowledgements in your paper, these should appear immediately before the references at the end of your paper. Please remove acknowledgements for peer-reviewing should they enable author identification.

Text format for references is Times New Roman 10, single spaced, Left Aligned, 0pt before and 10pt after each line, with paragraph hanging 1.27cm. Details on in-text citation can be found in the first main section of this document.

References in this list should relate only to the material you actually cite within your chapter (this is not a bibliography), should be listed in alphabetical order, and chronologically in the case of multiple works by the same author(s).
