Uniting Multicultural Festival 2014

Uniting Multicultural Festival 2014 APPLICATION FORM Dance & Music Competition: Saturday 14 June 2014 Thank you for participating in the Inaugural Uniting Multicultural Festival 2014. We are looking forward to your contribution and are confident that your performance will be of benefit to everyone present.

This is a multicultural festival and celebration organised and hosted by the Uniting Church in Australia, Synod of NSW/ACT, to highlight and promote June as our Annual Synod Multicultural Month. It is an opportunity to give creative and multicultural expressions to our popular Synod motto: ‘Uniting for the Common Good’.

This event is designed to welcome the public at large and to be held every year. As a church we are committed to fostering and promoting multicultural communities characterised by mutual understanding, respect, and harmonious co-existence. To that end, we welcome all groups and individuals who wish to participate in the music and dance competitions. Our Multicultural Festival coincides with Refugee Week and in solidarity with refugee and asylum seekers we will give some emphasis during the festival to raising awareness and promoting services in support.

We expect that each participant would conduct themselves during the competitions and throughout the day of the festival in ways that are respectful and safe for all. So that all participants are given their fair amount of performance time, each participant must limit their presentation/performance to 7 minutes including any introductory element.
