United States History II C1 Research Paper Mr. DiLuzio

As part of our study of United States history, each of you will complete a research paper on one figure or event pertaining to our course of study. A list of acceptable paper topics will be circulated. From this list you must have a first, second and third selection. Only one person per class may do their paper on any one figure or event. Selections will be recorded based upon a first come/first serve basis.

The requirements of the paper are as follows:

1. Cover page including paper’s title, student’s name, teacher, period, date of submission 2. 3 – 4 typed, double spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font 3. Paper will begin with a clear thesis statement 4. Clear and accurate background information about figure/event 5. Facts/details that support your thesis statement (show the significance of your figure/event) in a series of body paragraphs. 6. Conclusion 7. A “works cited” page – students must use at least 4 sources (only 1 source may be an internet source – a respectable internet source and 1 must be a primary source – written during the time period) – Databases are different.

All tasks must be completed by the dates listed below. Failure to complete tasks on time will result in a loss of points on the overall grade.
