Application for Aviation Flight Scholarships

2017 LUANN GATEWOOD AND GINA GATEWOOD TROVER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship was established to honor LuAnn Gatewood, a former flight instructor in the SIU Aviation Flight program, and her sister, Gina Gatewood Trover. It was established to assist students who are currently enrolled in the Aviation Flight, Associate of Applied Science degree program through the College of Applied Sciences and Arts at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Award amounts depend on fund performance, but typically range between $2000- $4000.

Qualifications: Applicants must

1. be enrolled in the Aviation Flight, A.A.S. degree program 2. be pursuing advanced flight training (e.g. instrument, commercial, ME rating, CFI, etc.)

Submission Requirements:

1. Fully completed and signed scholarship application 2. Current SIU transcript (unofficial is acceptable)

Please follow the following naming protocol for your application file: year_scholarship name_last name followed by first name initial. For example, 2017_Gatewood_JonesS or 2017_Gatewood_RuizJ

NOTE: Scholarship funds will NOT be awarded until a thank you note to the scholarship donor has been received at the SIU Foundation. Scholarship winners will be notified of the donor name and process for submitting the thank you note.
