Job Title: Support Staff - Clerical Department: Palo Pinto County Community Supervision and Corrections Department Reports To: CSCD Director FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Closing Date: Until Filled Beginning Salary: Based on experience (With Benefits)

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma conferred by an institution accredited by an organization recognized by the State of Texas.

DEPARTMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: The applicant cannot be employed as a peace officer, be on community supervision or parole or serving a sentence for a criminal offense, or have an immediate family member on current supervision. The applicant should also have: dependable transportation; valid Texas Driver’s License; proof of liability insurance; bondable; and available to attend out of town training. A criminal history check will be a part of the final selection process. Preference given to English/Spanish bilingual applicants.

JOB TASKS: Exercise mature judgment in response to the responsibility to the Courts of the 29 th Judicial District and Palo Pinto County, the Department, and the probationer. Should be computer literate in: Windows XP, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and other computer applications. Able to operate office equipment and machines (i.e., copiers, scanners, fax). Good customer service and telephone skills desired, with an ability to interact with a diversity of people and agencies without prejudice. Daily duties include the handling of monies, creation and maintenance of confidential paper and computer files, filing, correspondence, and reception duties. Position is under direction of the Office Manager. Tasks must be conducted in a manner consistent with standards promulgated by the TDCJ-CJAD and as envisioned by the Director of the Palo Pinto County Community Supervision and Corrections Department. Other duties may be assigned as needed to carry out the operations of the Department and the Courts.
