February 2015 Meeting Minutes Due to SEP Conferences, The Community Council Meeting this month was via email.

We have under-budgeted some items this year. Looking forward from now, it appears we may have about a $19,000 carryover into next year. We need to spend the funds during the year they are given to us.

The district is encouraging the use of Chrome Book tablet computers. We used fundraiser money this year to purchase one classroom set of these Chrome Books for our 4, 5, and 6th grades already this year and they are a hit! They are being used successfully to implement hands-on creative learning through slide show presentations, writing practice by writing on Utah Compose (which helps prepare for the SAGE Writing Assessment), complete work assignments, group work, etc., etc., etc. It is the goal of the district to have 1-1 technology devices for student use. This is a great way to start!

It is proposed to use the carry over funding to purchase an additional 2 classroom sets. They would be purchased from the district at an educational discount and preloaded with approved apps to help with projects, learning, communicating, etc.

As far as the rest of the budget goes, we have budgeted all of our aide hours between now and the end of the year as well as substitutes and professional development opportunities as described in the plan. Our plan is budgeted down with a carryover of only $81.03. Phew!
