Paint Care Program Contact Paint Care about official launch of program. Pre event advertising about latex paint accepted at Ace and Sherwin Williams. Let other retailers know that anyone who sells paint has recovery fee on bill. Participation in program is free. C. America Recycles Day ~ Nov. 15 “This years theme is: Bathroom, Bags, and Gadgets! A theme based on bathroom products, plastic bags, and electronics recycling takes recycling beyond the kitchen to educate our audiences on some of the less commonly recycled products.” Catherine ~ Global Soap USA offers a program that processes used soap from hotels and sends to 3rd world countries. Maybe an idea for ARD? Plastic bags ~ maybe use ARD to re- initiate proposal to City Council. Also reach out to Diane who leads the Trash Trek project. Ask kids to come up with ideas for ARD. Suggestions included: Summary of how plastic bag fee/ban is working state wide and present to Council; have a video competition thru schools for Plastic bags ~ could be an individual or Teen Council/group ; educate public about exactly which types of plastic bags are accepted; bring in plastic bags and get a reusable bag ; give reusable bags away at City Market and Safeway from 12- on ARD. 50 bags at each. One per person. IV. Updates A. Ski Containers Ski Corp agreed to take the ski sleeves and recycle container inserts to use on the mountain either in their parking lots or other locations. Suggested sending a letter to the Editor to thank Parks and Rec for providing permanent recycle/trash containers in the parks. B. Post Office Recycle bins are back!!:) They hired a custodian on a trial basis. Recycle service will continue provided custodian is offered full time position.

V. Open Discussion Twin Update: The steel has been ordered for the building where the MRF will be housed and the permits are in order. Hoping to be operational by Christmas. Next Spring or summer will be the time to discuss Hub and spoke model with outside Communities. (Phase II of the Feasibility Study) Marlin gave an update about terminating compost service to residential customers if they are not trash/recycle customers. No alterative options available at this time. What do other communities do? High Country Conservation does collet food waste but they have a different situation.
