DYNAMIC CHRISTIAN SCIENCE – THE SPIRITUAL MONITOR UNDERSTOOD

Jesus gave to the world the Science of Christ, and subsequently Paul shared his understanding of this Science through his teachings and letters which form a very prominent and important portion of the New Testament of the Bible which is so dear to us.

In the 19th century Mary Baker Eddy was led to study the Bible and share with the world through her writings and demonstrations the efficacy of the Science of Christ in her own time. In the same way that Paul has made a very great contribution to the Christian church Bicknell Young too has made a substantial contribution to the Church of Christ, Scientist. In this Workshop we look at this contribution to see how we too can read Mrs Eddy’s writings and put them to practice in our daily lives to bless the world in our own time with transformation, regeneration, divine healing. This is a practical Workshop in which we look to see how we can stand on the shoulders of Bicknell Young and share and enjoy his spiritual elevation.

In this first Workshop on Saturday 4th February 2012 we will consider a Bio of Bicknell Young and his C.O.P. activities for the State of Illinois at the start of the 20th Century as revealed in his letters published in the Christian Science Sentinel in 1902 and 1903. His life offers to show us through the lens of Spirit how to understand “the spiritual monitor understood, co-incidence of the divine with the human” which, as Mrs Eddy states is the “acme of Christian Science” Mis 100:19.

We will look into Bicknell Young’s legacy he has given to us and The Church of Christ, Scientist in the 50 years following the last time he taught the Normal Class in 1937. We will share spiritual insights from the following articles by Bicknell Young CSB
