Schooltool for Parents

Schooltool for Parents:

Log on to Schooltools website:

1. Go to NSCSD website

2. Click on Schooltool icon mid-page on right side.

3. Enter your e-mail address that is on file with the district.

If you do not have an e-mail on file, please contact NSJHS at 218-3614 to have one added to your account.

4. Enter your password.

If you have an account on file, but do not remember your password, OR need a new password, do not enter a password – just click LOGIN. You will be prompted with “New User” or “Forgot Password.” Click the appropriate button. A password will be sent to the e-mail address on file. You will then be able to enter this password and login.

a. To change password to something more memorable, go to “Accounts” tab after getting into Schooltool.

Once in Schooltool:

Parents can VIEW Contacts, Schedule, Attendance, Grades, Assessments, Assignments, Letters.

1. CONTACTS: Lists those adults for emergency, shows primary parent icon, mail icon (shows who gets mail (must have to use Schooltool)), pick up icon (who is allowed to pick student up after showing ID), parent portal icon (must have to get alerts or have Schooltool access), e-mail address (must have to have Schooltool access).

2. SCHEDULE: Show the student’s schedule. Can be show in standard view or grid view. Also show the class (period, time room, teacher) student currently is in.

3. ATTENDANCE: Can choose daily attendance or course attendance.

4. GRADES: Shows courses, teacher, marking period, days, period, section, grades, comments.

Select dropdown for:

Marking Period Grades - Shows final grade by Marking Period (10, 20, 30, 40). Only

available at end of Marking Period.

Progress Report Grades – Shows Mid-Marking Period (5, 15, 25, 35). Only available at

end of Mid-Marking Period. Marking Period Average – Shows a current running average for a class. Average is

dependent upon class grades input.

Assessment Grades – Shows school year, type of exam, course, exam (i.e. Band Final

Exam, Algebra Regents), score, date.

Final Grades – Shows school year, course, teacher, final class grade.

5. ASSESSMENTS: Shows school year, assessment (Grade 7 Math), performance level, raw score, scaled score.

6. ASSIGNEMENTS: Can see ongoing day to day assignments. Choose MP and choose Course from dropdowns. Will tell course, category, assignment name, date, max, score.

7. LETTERS: At this time there will be no information in this tab.
