Random Lake Boys’ Basketball Recent News… (Last Updated July 9, 2008)

1. High School Players and Coaches Contact Days are July 12, 19, 25, 26, and 31, for players entering grades 9, 10, 11, or 12. Agenda for July 12 is available on the website.

2. Random Lake will be hosting the boys’ high school basketball scrimmage this season. It will be on Nov. 22 from 1:00 to 5:00 for JV and Varsity. Plans are for a 4-team format. Milwaukee Messmer has all ready accepted their invitation to the scrimmage. We will probably have all four teams scheduled soon.

3. The Ozaukee – Random Lake rivalry has a new tradition for basketball, similar to the traditions in football where the winning team gets the jug, and wrestling where the winning team gets the mat. Basketball will have a dual sided retro-jersey, half Ozaukee and half Random Lake, going to the winning team. The winners are allowed to put a patch on their side of the jersey indicating the date of the game and the score. Random Lake’s Ross Krier is donating the Random Lake side of the jersey and Ozaukee’s Isaiah Ketterhagen is donating the Ozaukee side. Coach Ketterhagen’s mother is providing the seem stressing to make to the combined jersey for us to compete for.

4. Additionally, Ozaukee and Random Lake have agree in principle to play a game at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee as part of the Bucks Prep Series 18th annual season event during the 2008-2009 basketball season. Our agreement is subject to game time and date availability and will only become reality if the two teams are able to find a mutually agreeable time and date to coincide with the Bucks game and Marquette practice schedules and receive approval from our respective schools. Once those schedules are released, we will be looking at potential Saturday or Sunday game dates for this so that students do not need to miss any school time in order to enjoy the Bradley Center experience.

5. The tentative date for the Random Lake Alumni Basketball Game has been preliminarily set for Saturday, December 29. More information to come later.
