Romeo and Juliet Song Assignment Due: Thursday, February 18, 2010
STEP 1: Find a song that represents a character or a specific scene in Romeo and Juliet. Search through your personal music collection, your parents’, your friends’, etc. Make sure that the lyrics are appropriate for class!!! In other words no cussing and no overtly sexual content is allowed. If you are unsure if something is inappropriate, then see me about it at least 3 days before your assignment is due. STEP 2: Type or neatly print your lyrics to the song. Have a copy for me to turn in with this rubric. STEP 3: Write a hundred word explanation of the connection between your song of choice and one of the characters/scenes from the play. Make sure to quote specific lines from the song and compare them to specific parts of the story. Unlike your journal, this should not be written in under 10 minutes!!! I want to see that you have put some thought and effort into what you write, and grammar will affect your grade.
