Press Release 2015-116

Schmitz Cargobull AG, Horstmar/Gotha 24th February 2015 The 100,000th vehicle from Schmitz Cargobull's plant in Gotha is destined for the waste management specialist, Blasius Schuster KG

A major highlight from the Tipper Days at the Schmitz Cargobull AG Gotha plant: the Gotha plant's 100,000th vehicle was delivered to Paul Schuster, the owner of the waste management company Schuster KG, following a celebratory speech. The vehicle, an S.KI Tipper semi-trailer with a robust 8.2 m long rounded steel body, sported a deep-blue design together with Schuster KG's unmistakable logo. The managing Director of Schmitz Cargobull Gotha GmbH, Reinhard Eberle, along with the Sales Director for Germany and Western Europe, Frank Reppenhagen, took the opportunity to personally hand over the vehicle to its new owner before taking him on a tour of the plant.

More than 70 tipper semi-trailers produced in Gotha provide the certified waste management specialists, Schuster KG, with perfect transport for bulk goods such as excavated earth, railway ballast, rough gravel, rubble or asphalt. These materials are professionally processed, recycled and delivered for either reuse or disposal.

"The day-to-day work is often very rough and the robust steel body is far more durable, which was a key factor in our decision. Combined with the weight-optimised chassis, the Schmitz Cargobull vehicles from Gotha are also the first choice in terms of efficiency. That is why we have also ordered an additional seven vehicles," explains Paul Schuster.

Since Schmitz Cargobull AG took over the factory in 1997, the Gotha plant has gone on to become the competence centre for bulk goods and special vehicles. The tipper semi-trailers manufactured here have conquered the European markets, making the company the absolute number one in the heavy duty bulk goods sector. Reinhard Eberle emphasised innovativeness and the focus on the customer.

He says: "We can offer customer-specific tipper semi-trailer solutions based on our modular system for all important transport goods from lightweight goods to heavy duty." In addition, there are new and ground-breaking technologies such as a remote control for vehicle functions via a smartphone app, which was specifically developed for tipper semi-trailer vehicles and presented at the IAA 2014. This revolutionary new product was recognised with the trailer innovation prize at the IAA 2014, was extremely well received by the expert public, and has been in great demand.

"Because vehicles have been constructed in Gotha since 1898, the employees here essentially grow up with the expertise and high standards of quality and sustainability in both the design and production," stated Mr. Eberle in his speech. Page 2 of 2015-116

The employees at the Gotha plant presented the latest developments in vehicles and services to the invited industry experts from throughout Europe at the Tipper Days 2015. During the subsequent dialogue sessions the guests talked about business and constructively discussed new approaches. Every year more than 1,000 customers and employees use these regular dialogues at the Gotha plant to create practical and revolutionary solutions.

"The dialogue which we maintain here with customers is an important aspect of our shared recipe for success. Our customers want reliable vehicles along with services tailored to match their needs. We want satisfied customers who trust us and keep on coming back for our transport solutions," added Frank Reppenhagen.
