2. New website www.ndshp.org/students - has information on upcoming meetings, guest speakers, links, etc. a. Don’t forget to follow the Facebook page “North Dakota Society of Health-System Pharmacists - NDSU” b. Search “North Dakota Society” to join the Blackboard page
3. Join via the www.ndshp.org/join-us website this year. a. $30 for both NDSHP and NDSHP-NDSU membership
4. NDSHP Monthly Meetings, alternating Educational and Networking a. Sudro 110, Tuesdays at noon - bring your lunch! b. Can come and go as you wish c. Will be sitting in on a conference call with pharmacists across the state d. 9/8, 10/13, 11/10, 12/8
5. New projects this year per the College and ASHP a. Outreach: working with homeless population, Brown Bag activity, Churches United – Elle will be in touch with Family Healthcare and various assisted living facilities b. New project you vote on (SurveyMonkey to follow) – Brianna will send out link and please vote! Exec narrowed list down to 6 choices. c. Continue with our NDSCS project – help pharmacy technician students prepare for licensing exam
6. Membership Drive competing against sites all around ND – Winner will receive pizza and prizes! Still in need of representatives for the Pre-Pharmacy and P1 classes (contact Brianna if interested)
7. Midyear, December 4th-10th New Orleans – Residency Showcase, educational and networking sessions a. Need a committed headcount by Sept 21st to apply for reimbursement
8. Residency Showcase a. NDSU: Friday 9/11 12:00-3:00pm a.i. Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center in Sioux Falls, SD. St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND. Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls, MN. Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. Veterans Affairs Medical & Regional Office Center in Fargo, ND. Trinity Health in Minot, ND. Cub Pharmacy in St. Louis Park, MN. Thrifty White in Fargo, ND. a.ii. Time after to visit one-on-one – feel free to ask any questions you may have, great way to get your name out there and to learn about the programs you might be interested in a.iii. Lunch provided, each program will give a 10 minute presentation b. MN: Friday, 9/18 3:45-5:15pm. Brooklyn Center, MN (e-mail was sent out with details in late August – refer to that if interested)
9. CV Review Deadline 9/9 a. http://www.ashp.org/cvreview b. Sent out to practicing pharmacists who provide feedback and comments c. Receive feedback by October 20th d. Must be ASHP member, $47/year or $3/month e. Also get free journals either in the mail or electronically when you become a member of ASHP
10. Merchandise for sale a. New fundraising chairs – Brittany and Jen b. T-shirts for sale ($5) – contact Brittany if you would like to buy one c. If interested in being a Fundraising Chair, contact Brianna; great way to become involved in NDSHP!
11. Sudro Symposium a. Need volunteers 9/3 5-8pm – looking for volunteers willing to work 1-2 hour shifts
12. Volunteering a. Pictures to [email protected] b. Many new volunteer opportunities! c. Volunteering competition – send hours to Elle, two people with highest number of hours at end of year will receive a $20 Visa gift card, will need to have a sheet signed off for each event to verify your hours d. Documents posted on Blackboard for your use e. First opportunity is serving a meal at Churches United in Moorhead on 9/17 from 9:30 am-1 pm
13. Top 200 a. Every member who has paid dues is elgible to receive a hard copy of the Top 200 information! b. Student-made, not guaranteed to be free of errors
14. Journal Club a. Started last year and continued throughout this past summer on Blackboard b. Still working on finding a time to meet face-to-face c. Article and discussion questions are sent out each month via e-mail, answers to discussion questions can be posted on the discussion board portion of our Blackboard page d. E-mail Brianna if interested in joining
