Treasurer’s Report: Lori Garlock let everyone know how the car show did. We had a profit of $1,430.89. There was a lot of good feedback from the car show attendants, the chamber donated $100 to the band that was nice enough to come and play at Mike Temple’s request. They were very good and might use them again in the future. Next year we need to see if we can get some wireless speakers that would reach the cars parked near the bathrooms. 10 chamber members were there that day to help, thanks to them. Motion by L. Mueller, second by Terry Burrington to accept the August 2011 Treasurer’s report as presented. All ayes-carried. Total of Checking & savings is $6,073.98.

1. No new members at this time.

2. Update on the car show was given during the treasurer’s report.

3. Lori Garlock discussed ideas for the Halloween Parade. She would like to do a pumpkin decorating contest again this year but actually give out real pumpkins for kids to decorate with paint, marker, etc. No carving so no one gets hurt. She will work on getting a flyer to the school. Do we want push carts in the parade for food pantry donations? Laurie Mueller said that she talked with the current fire chief, Larry Kreger about the fire dept. having a haunted house in the basement of the fire hall, which was mentioned last year. He said he would bring it up at their next meeting which isn’t until mid-Oct.

4. The idea of “chamber checks” was talked about, how they work, the paperwork that would be involved to do something like this, etc. Terry Burrington was very familiar with how they worked and said it’s a good idea but someone has to be willing to keep up on the accounting and paperwork end of it. Item tabled at this time. There was a motion by Terry Burrington, second by Rick Ball to get a raffle license from the state of WI. All ayes-carried.

5. Lori Garlock spoke regarding the huge need for volunteers to work at the food pantry the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of the month from 6-8 pm and the 2nd & 4th Thursdays from 10 am –noon. They really need help packing the grocery bags with items from the residents that come in. She wanted to get the word out. The members discussed donating once again to the food pantry, and there was a motion by L. Mueller, second by Dave Turner to donate $200 to the food pantry. All ayes-carried. 6.
