In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Stanley Black & Decker is voluntarily recalling the above listed Cordless Lawn Mowers.

Removal of the safety key in these lawn mowers may not disable the motor, permitting unintentional starting or operation, which may pose a laceration hazard.

Customers will have the following options to choose from.

1. Bring or ship their CMM1000 lawn mower into a Factory Owned Service Center to have a service kit #90551109 installed free of charge.

2. Bring or ship their CMM1000 lawn mower into a Factory Authorized Service Center to have a service kit #90551109 installed free of charge.

3. Purchase a new 36 volt cordless lawn mower (CM1936 or CM1836) and receive a $100.00 discount off the current service center price. This offer is only valid at a Factory Owned Service Center. The customer’s CMM1000 will need to be scrapped.

Customers needing more information may call 1-866-229-5570.

For customers whose lawn mowers are in need of a battery replacement, we are offering a special price of $75.00 if installed during the recall repair at a Factory Owned Service Center. The battery is not included as part of this recall. This will be a separate transaction for the sale of the battery only and no additional labor will be charged.

Customers with a Sears model lawn mower will contact Sears directly for instructions on how to obtain repair service.
