Lucy V. Barnsley Elementary School 50th Anniversary Parent Teacher Association Silent Auction

General Auction Information

1. All silent auction proceeds will be donated to the Lucy V. Barnsley Elementary School PTA to support programs for students.

2. Auction items will be advertised on the Lucy V. Barnsley Elementary School PTA Facebook page and website in advance of the auction.

3. Auction items will be on display in the All-Purpose Room at Lucy V. Barnsley Elementary School from 6:00 p.m. to 8:15 or 8:30 p.m. on May 20, 2016.

4. A bid is construed as a legal agreement to purchase the listed item(s) at the bid amount indicated.

5. Anyone 18 years or older who attends the Lucy V. Barnsley Elementary School 50th Anniversary Celebration may place a bid.

6. Bidding will begin at 6:00 p.m. and end at 8:15 8:30 p.m. on May 20, 2016.

7. Winning bidders must be present and will have until 9:00 p.m. on May 20, 2016 to pay for and collect their item(s), if winning bidder is not present then auction organizers have the sole discretion to determine the winner.

Silent Auction Bidding Instructions

1. Each auction item will have a bidding sheet associated with it. Opening bids will be identified on the bid sheets as will the fair market value of each item.

2. All new bids must be higher than the previous bid by at least the bid increment amount indicated at the top of the bid sheet, in order to be valid.

3. The amount a bidder pays above market value is normally a tax deductible charitable donation. Please consult your tax adviser.

4. To place a silent auction bid, legibly print your name, bid, and cell phone number on the bid sheet following the opening bid or highest current bid.

5. In order to protect the integrity of all bidders, please do not scratch out bids. Bids may only be voided by auction personnel when there is a valid bidding error. Please seek assistance if you find an invalid bid or make a mistake during bidding.

6. If you have questions, there will be auction volunteers to assist you.

7. Half the auction will close at 8:15 p.m. and the other half of the auction will close at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016 at which time the highest bid on each bid sheet will be declared the winner. If conflict arises over identifying the last valid bid for an item(s), auction organizers have the sole discretion to determine the winner. 8. All winning bids must be settled before the end of the event by cash or credit card.

9. By placing a bid, you agree to these rules.

10. All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted. All items are “as is.”
