Apples, Pears and Pumpkins PART ONE: Fall for Produce

Saturday, October 9

We at the Memphis Farmers Market celebrate fresh, local food all year long but the bounty at this time of year makes us fall in love with healthy food all over again. In addition to the familiar fall items, such as apples, pumpkins and gourds, the cooler weather also fosters mustard greens, collard greens, kale, bok choy, arugula, mesclun mix, tender baby lettuces, radishes, pears and sweet potatoes.

At the market this Saturday, well share new ways to prepare old favorites for your family. We also talk about preservation and cold storage solutions to help you enjoy the tastes of harvest time during the winter months.
