Key Findings of the assessment.
Sindhupalchowk
Dependence on noodles and lack of animal protein would have serious nutritional consequence on women, particularly Pregnant and Lactating mothers. Need for tarpaulin and progress with the distribution of tarpaulin is not enough to meet the 20% need. This has deprived people from their privacy and exposes women to more vulnerable situation, though the cases of sexual abuse and GBV were not reported so far. Workload on women has increased in many cases as they have to walk extra for collection of water and for accessing covered space for defecation. As almost every household are inhabitable, the need for shelter is even more pressing for the mourning family who cannot share the space with other people for 13 days of mourning
Nuwakot,
GBV Not reported yet. it is difficult to trace the case. women are transparent and honest to find real affected people in the field WDO is busy in relief distribution Mostly organisaitons are interested ot work on distribution of relief rather even though Save the Children is keen to work on gender and protection women and young mothers need health service Increase workload of women because of taking care of food, old people, children and find food items in collapsed houses, Women are with stress with frustration, aggressiveness. Dilit community in Khadgabhangyan feel unfair relief distribution, not informed well and they shared that they requested to bring police for fair distribution
KTM valley VAW cases (e.g 2 rape case in Thankot) are coming out. Relief item reach in highly affected population but left out neighbouring communities District protection cluster are not active as in centre ( focus in relief distribution, and/or not recognised) Girls in transit home also affected and need support (e.g. ABC Nepal) New mothers are suffering from nutritious food in Bhaktapur Women rights organisation are actively engaging to support in women specific relief items with self generated fund and explore more (BBC, WHR, PRERANA etc) and advocating for rights of the affected women
