DATE OF THIS BID: SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE REMOVAL OF THE RESIDENTIAL HOUSE & DETACHED GARAGE LOCATED AT 2540 SARATOGA STREET PARCEL #07-00279A

The City of Wisconsin Rapids will receive sealed bids for the removal of the two-story residential house and detached garage, as advertised, at the Engineering Department, City Hall, 444 West Grand Avenue, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54495 until 12:00 Noon on August 7, 2012. The outside of the envelope containing the bid shall be marked “Bid for 2540 Saratoga Street” to clearly indicate a sealed bid. A bid check in the amount of at least 10% of the bid must accompany all bids submitted. Payment of the full amount of the bid must be made before any work is started on the removal of the buildings. All bids shall be submitted on the PROPOSAL FORM written by the City. To inspect the buildings prior to the bid deadline, contact Jim Borski, Public Works Superintendent, at 715-213-6342. The complete removal of the buildings must be accomplished within sixty (60) days of the date of the awarding by the Common Council. All of the buildings must be removed to the concrete foundation. Failure to complete the above work shall result in a forfeiture of 5% of the bid price. The successful bidder shall and will save harmless and indemnify the City from and against all causes of action, legal or equitable, arising by reason of the acts or neglect of the successful bidder or of the failure by the successful bidder or any of its officers, agents, or employees to fulfill any duty toward the City or toward the public, or any person or persons whomsoever, which the successful bidder shall and will, at its own cost and expense, defend such actions which may be brought against the City, and shall pay all amounts which may be recorded therein against the City for or upon said causes of action. The successful bidder shall comply with all Codes of the City of Wisconsin Rapids that are applicable. The location to which the buildings are to be moved must be specified and must accompany the bid. The location, if in this City, is subject the approval of the Common Council. The buildings will not be awarded to the successful bidder until the following is provided within 14 days of the bid opening:  A signed agreement with a professional mover to move the buildings.  Proof of insurance in the minimum limit of liability amount of $1,000,000  The new site is to be approved by the municipality in whose jurisdiction it is moved to.  Bidder must demonstrate ability to dismantle and remove if that is the intent.

The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to accept the bid they deem most advantageous to the City.
