Sol Feinstone Chess Club

Dear Parents and Students,

Sol Feinstone Elementary will be offering an after school chess club for students from grades 3 to 6. The students will be participating in a variety of team, partner, and individual chess matches. The goal of the Sol Feinstone Chess Club is to provide an opportunity for students to learn the basics of chess in a safe and pleasant environment. Students will practice good sportsmanship while having a friendly intellectual competition.

The Chess Club will be run by Mr. Kinkead. The program will begin on Thursday, December 6th and take place on the following ten Thursdays. Each session will take place in Mr. Kinkead's classroom beginning at 3:45 p.m. Pick-up will be at the front of the school at 4:45p.m. Parents are responsible for transportation home. Students should not come to chess club on days that they do not have a ride home.

This activity has been extremely popular! While the classroom is designed for under 30 students, we will accept 40 for the club. Permission slips are available online or in Mr. Kinkead's classroom.

Should school be closed on a Thursday, Chess Club will be postponed until a make-up time can be scheduled. If you have any questions, please feel free contact to Mr. Kinkead at [email protected].
