If you work in your company with passion you will have highs and lows. As an executive recruiter he sees people in life changing events and he has to stay calm. Like storms and roller coasters in business there are highs and lows such as the salesman bringing in the big deal, IT having a flawless installation, for an accountant the bottom left column equaling the bottom right column. You want to celebrate victories but stay in control. Vince Lombardi said, “When you score a touchdown, act like you have been in the end zone before”. Don’t be known as the person who can’t handle challenges. Don’t bring things home to the family. It is not good for the heart. As you go through the peaks and valleys manage the in between. Keep it flat. Stay off the rollercoaster, manage your work life and you will be healthier. (6 min, 33 sec)

Ernie Krueger was born on the south side of Chicago and played baseball. He was drafted by the team that became the Cleveland Indians. A catcher, he went on to play for the New York Yankees, Giants and the Brooklyn Dodgers. On May 1st, 1920 he participated in the longest game in baseball history. Judi showed us a signed game ball form this game. Judi remembers uncle Ernie walking bow legged with hands like claws. He went on to be a manger at Marshall Fields where he would host a party to see the huge Christmas tree. He was one of the founders of the Old Timers Baseball Association. He has been gone for years but she still remembers him. Honor the heroes of your life and you may be talking about them some day. (8 min, 34 sec)
