Visiting the United States Mint at Denver

We’re looking forward to your visit to the United States Mint at Denver. Please read the following information for all visitors to the facility.

Building Entrance: The Denver Mint is located at 320 West Colfax Avenue, Denver, CO, 80204. The visitor entrance is located on the east side of the building, along Cherokee Street. Upon arrival, you may need to provide a photo ID to the Police Officer at the gate.

Electronic Metal Detector: In order to expedite the screening process, please travel light and avoid bringing in bags, purses, laptops, radios, and work equipment. Upon entry, you will be required to walk through a metal detector, similar to those used at airports. Shoes, jackets, and other such items may need to be removed and placed on the conveyor as well, as instructed by the Police Officer.

All persons entering or exiting the facility may be subject to wand scans and personal property may be searched by hand by Mint Police.

Cameras / Cell Phones: The taking of pictures or recording of videos on the premises of any United States Mint production facility is strictly prohibited, except when specifically authorized in writing. Visitors may be subject to criminal prosecution for taking unauthorized photographs or making video recordings in United States Mint facilities.

Parking/Public Transportation: Please be advised that the Denver Mint does not provide parking spaces. There are parking lots and meters in the surrounding area.

The Denver Mint is located in downtown Denver, and is easily reached via public transportation. The nearest light rail station is the Theatre District/Convention Center Station, which serves the D, F, and H Lines. When you arrive at the Theatre District/Convention Center Station, head toward 14th Street. Turn right onto 14th Street. Then turn right onto Tremont Street. When you cross Colfax Avenue, continue to Cherokee Street and the visitor entrance is on the east side of the building.

The nearest RTD bus station is Civic Center Station, which serves several bus routes. Civic Center Station is at Broadway and Colfax Avenue, right next to Civic Center Park. When you arrive at Civic Center Station, make your way to Colfax Avenue and head west, toward Civic Center Park. Colfax Avenue will soon curve around the park, and then it is only a few short blocks to the Denver Mint. Turn left onto Cherokee Street, and onto the visitor entrance on the east side of the building.

Driving Directions: The Denver Mint is located near Interstate 25, and is easily accessible from this highway.
