Pharmacy Billing – Please refer to the General Batch Transmission File Formatting Version 1.2 Batch File Errors (Section 1.2) section of this manual, the NCPDP Batch Standard (Section 1.2.7.1) Implementation Guide Version 1.2, the Batch Transaction Standard Version 1.2 and the NCPDP July 2007 Data Dictionary for further information about NCPDP Batch Version 1.2 error processing.

This section contains error messages that Medi-Cal returns to the submitter in the 35-byte Message field (504-F4) in the Batch Transaction Trailer Record within Version 1.2 Error Transmission responses. Up to three messages will be included separated by semi-colons. Medi-Cal will include error messages in this field only when the response to the Batch Billing File is a Batch Error Response transmission. In this case there will be no responses to the claim(s) and associated claim detail(s) included within the file.
