JOBS ARE AT STAKE  Health care is a major employment sector in Los Angeles  There are now nearly 600,000 health care jobs in Los Angeles County.1  Middle skill jobs offer communities a hand up out of poverty. o Nearly a quarter (23%) of the health care jobs in LA County are middle-skill, and Health Care comprises the bulk of middle skill job growth for the County. 2  Los Angeles County could lose 63,000 jobs due to partial repeal of the Affordable Care Act.3

 Health centers hire and train employees from their communities o In 2010, my organization employed ___ FTEs o Now we employ ___ FTEs --we created ___ jobs for our community! o These jobs are now at stake if ACA is repealed.

OUR ECONOMY IS AT STAKE  Health Care Drives our Economy.  LA will lose $5.8 billion in GDP if the ACA is repealed, and California will lose $20.3 billion.4

 Beyond adding health care jobs, community clinics and health centers invest in their communities and local economies: o Since 2010, my organization invested $___ in local construction. o We also invested $___ in contracts for services, such as facilities, maintenance and security. o Our investments in our local community are now at stake if ACA is Repealed.

 Coverage matters. Clinics serve all regardless of ability to pay, but we can serve more patients if we have a sustainable payer mix. o In 2010, my organization provided ___ visits to ___ patients. o ___ % of those patients were uninsured and ___ % were on Medicaid. o This past year, we provided ___ visits to ___ patients. o ___ % of those patients are now uninsured and ___ % are on Medicaid. o Medicaid now makes up ___ % of my total budget. o It’s because of the expansions in coverage that we were able to serve more people. o This growth is unsustainable under repeal.

WE STAND WITH OUR PARTNERS  Community Clinics and Health Centers share common missions of quality, access and prevention for all, regardless of ability to pay.  We support the many immigrants in our community. They are our family, friends, neighbors, patients and staff who make tremendous contributions to its richness and prosperity.  Immigrants are woven into the fabric of the health care workforce. The gains that have been made in health care are not possible without them. They will continue to play a critical role in ensuring that the health care needs of LA County residents are met.  In Los Angeles, Planned Parenthood plays a vital role in our safety net, serving nearly 10% of the 1.5 million Angelenos served by non profit
