We Wanted to Take a Moment to Introduce You to Our Son Kyle Who Is in Mrs. Downing S Class

Dear Parent,

We wanted to take a moment to introduce you to our son Kyle who is in Mrs. Downing’s class this year. Kyle has an infectious smile, is very outgoing and also has Down syndrome. This is Kyle’s second year at Cedar Creek. Kyle has a twin sister in second grade and a younger sister in kindergarten. Kyle is very excited about being in first grade and is looking forward to becoming fast friends with his classmates.

Our expectations for our son are like those you have for your own children. We hope he will learn to the best of his ability, make lasting friendships, follow school rules and be a contributing member of the classroom. Your child’s role modeling and positive interactions with Kyle will help him be successful in these areas.

Today your child was part of a brief presentation which highlighted and explained some of the challenges Kyle faces on a daily basis. In addition, it hopefully gave some insight into Kyle’s differences and more importantly his overwhelming similarities to other children. We hope this helped answer some of the questions your child may have.

We hope you will contact us if you or your child has any questions. Children with Down syndrome have unlimited potential when given opportunity and support.
