Booster Meeting Minutes Thursday, March 10, 2016 7:00 pm H.S. Library

Attendance: Trustees/Representatives: John Day, Tim Erickson, Paul Lyon, Mary Yark, Ginger Coleman, Julie Boesel, Sonja Baehren, Phil Navarre, Jeff Cousins, Kate Pixler, Jim Walter

Membership: Eric Krupp, Robin Buckey, Sandy Brown, Casey Talbott, Laura Randall, Lisa Werner, Kirstin Robinson, Lisa Dewhirst

Review and approve Jan Meeting Minutes: Jeff Cousins, Sonja Baehren second.

AD Report – Tim Erickson Basketball won District Semi-Finals. Will play district finals on Saturday March 12, 2016.

Funding Requests: Softball:  Portable batting cage for $1,400.  3 bats for $1000

Football:  Dummies to simulate tackling: 3 dummies for $2,500  Count down clock for $375  Helmets for $2100

Tennis:  Wind Screen replacement 240 feet for $1950. John asked if village would help. Tim said no.

Weight Room Program:  $2,000 increase ($10,000 total) per year for the strength and conditioning program. Coach needs helpers.

Baseball:  Fence project $1000

Discussion on Funding Requests:  Strength coach - Motion to approve: Phil Navarre; Mary Yark, second. All are in favor.  Softball portable cage - Motion to approve: Ginger Coleman; Jeff Cousins, second. All are in favor.  Football Dummies, Helmets and Clock - Motion to approve Phil Navarre; Ginger second. All are in favor.  Tennis screen - Motion to approve: Sonja Baehren; Paul Lyon second. All were in favor.  Baseball fence: Total cost is $22,000. The chain link fence is 550 ft. long, 15 ft. length in pieces, and is green coated. Village Council gave them $2000, Village Foundation gave them $2000. Phil Navarre made a motion to propose $1000. If they need more than a $1000, come back. Mary Yark Second. (Withdrawn)  More discussion on fence: Advertising on the fence - money will go to fund the baseball fence. John added that we paid $5000 for new varsity uniforms this year already. Tim has $8000 in checks in hand. Revised motion - $1000 now, automatically get another $1000 if they are short. Mary second. All approved.

 GBB money will be used to repair the pits on the track.  This is the 8th year of the turf. We hope to have 11 to 12 years, before we replace. It will cost $350,000 to replace.

Baseball/Softball Concessions Green Bear Relays: Friday, May 6th Concessions -  Lisa Werner  Sonja Baehren  Mary Yark  Ginger Coleman  Julie Boesel Julie will send out a request to help to Booster Membership

Spring Carnival: Friday, May 20th John Day: Meeting Adjourned at 8:00 pm
