A Network Security Engineer is an IT professional cum Software Engineer responsible for the maintenance of computer hardware and software that comprises a computer network. The Network Security Engineer deals with the overall health of the network, server deployment, security, and ensures that the network connectivity meets the technical parameters prescribed by the network hierarchy of the company. Duties & Responsibilities

 Installation, configuration and maintenance of PCs, networking equipment and network operating systems.  Secures an information technology infrastructure that provides reliable, measurable, consistent, responsive and secure enterprise network services.  Concentrates on the network design and security, particularly troubleshooting and/or debugging network-related problems.  Deters and prevents cyber crime that plagues corporations and government agencies; identity and data theft, hacking and invasion of privacy.  Guards vital information systems vigilantly to fight cyber crime.  Handles web and network security exploits, intrusion prevention, network traffic analysis, cryptography and encryption.  Maintenance of the network’s authorization infrastructure, as well as network backup systems.  Routing protocols and routing table configuration assignment.  Configuration of authentication, authorization and directory services.  Maintenance of network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers etc.  Maintenance of network servers such as file servers, VPN gateways, intrusion detection systems, etc. Skills and Specifications

 A sound understanding of network operating systems, network equipment and networking protocols.  In-depth knowledge of Software maintenance and patching-up skills.  Strong interpersonal skills to understand the networking needs and problems of users. Education and Qualifications

 A minimum of any degree in computer Science or Computer Software Engineering university degree.  Training and certification in one or more leading network operating systems.  Training and certification on network equipment and protocols is preferred.  CISCO Certified Network Associate.
