PLEDGE
The City Council meeting was opened with the pledge of allegiance led by Mayor Little.
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of City Council was called to order at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2009.
ROLL CALL
The following Aldermen were present for Roll Call: Ayes - Alderman Babb, Bradford, Bumbalough, Dearborn, Steele, and Welton.
Also present were Mayor Little, Clerk Worent, and Deputy Treasurer Avery.
Absent: Treasurer Therry, Attorney Tibbs
Not Available: Dan Good, Engineer
PRESENTATION OF JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS
Alderman Babb made a motion, seconded by Alderman Steele, to approve the minutes of the Regular City Council meeting held on February 9, 2009. Roll Call Vote: Ayes - Alderman Babb, Bradford, Bumbalough, and Steele. Nays - none. Motion passed.
Alderman Babb made a motion, seconded by Alderman Bumbalough, to approve the minutes of the Executive Session held on February 9, 2009. Roll Call Vote: Ayes - Alderman Babb, Bradford, Bumbalough, and Steele. Nays - none. Motion passed. CONFIRMATION AGENDA
1. Approve the purchase of a new pump for well #6 for $5,500
Alderman Steele made a motion, seconded by Alderman Bradford, to approve the confirmation agenda. Roll Call Vote: Ayes - Alderman Babb, Bradford, Bumbalough, and Steele. Nays - none. Motion passed.
REPORTS OF CITY OFFICIALS
Mayor
Mayor Little sent a letter to HDC Engineering. He also met with Representative Mike Smith.
Clerk
No Report.
Treasurer
Deputy Treasurer Avery gave the January Treasurer’s Report in Treasurer Therry’s absence.
Attorney
No report in his absence.
City Engineer
No Report.
Communications
None.
CITIZENS WISHING TO ADDRESS THE COUNCIL Dave Ihben, 119 Calumet, spoke on trouble with the police department investigating a hit and run accident at their house. Amber Winkenfelt, 119 Calumet, also spoke on problems with the police department. Paul Ihben, 119 Calumet, stated his problems with the police department. No responses from the police department. All three citizens from 119 Calumet are unhappy with the police department performance. Mike Ihben, PO box 416, Tremont, also spoke. Jerry Inman, 105 Kickapoo, spoke on issue with ticket received during snow removal. Tammy Shultz, 118 Craig, also spoke on ticket for snow removal.
REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEE
Water and Sewer - Alderman Bumbalough
No Report.
Law Enforcement - Alderman Dearborn
Alderman Dearborn informed the council that the January Police Report is on file.
Streets - Alderman Babb
The Storm Water Erosion Control Meeting will be held March 16, 2009 at 7:00pm. This needs to be posted.
Parks and Public Buildings - Alderman Welton
No report.
Fire - Alderman Bradford
No Report.
Finance/Planning - Alderman Steele Alderman Steele made a motion, seconded by Alderman Bradford, to pay bills totaling: $33,727.92 from General Fund; $0 from Motor Fuel; $0 from Wheel Tax; and $9,016.35 from Water. Roll Call Vote: Ayes – Alderman Bradford, Bumbalough, Steele, Dearborn, Babb, and Welton. Nays - none. Motion passed.
The Historical Society Membership is due to be renewed.

Alderman Bradford made a motion seconded by Alderman Steele to adjourn the regular City Council meeting at 7:51 p.m. Voice Vote: All Ayes. Motion passed.
