PhD/Post Doc/Staff: It is the supervisor/contact person at the host university that decides what level of English is sufficient. Minimum scores TOEFL Bachelor and Master Exchange and Full Master Degree: paper-based: Score of 4.5 (scale 1-6) in written test and a total score of 575. Internet- based: Score of 20 (scale 0-30) in written test and a total score of 90. TOEFL ITP not accepted.

Minimum scores IELTS Bachelor and Master Exchange and Full Master Degree: An overall mark of 6.5 and no section below 5.5.

Visa requirements and procedures Requirements - For stays up to 90 days, a visa Schengen is required for some countries. Application is done via the closest Swedish Embassy.

- For stays longer than 90 days, a residence permit is required. Application is done online only.

Student facilities An Orientation Programme is arranged at the semester start and provides students with information about all kinds of facilities and activites they need in order to make the most of their stay in Uppsala.

A voluntary student union and “nation ” (student club) fee is charged, currently approximately 380 SEK (40 EUR). At Campus Gotland the fee is 150 SEK (16 EUR). Applying for student internet account is done at the beginning of each semester. The account is not needed before arrival and Wi-Fi is provided in all University owned buildings.

If you are studying at Campus Gotland: www.gotlandsstudentbostad.se/en Language courses Intensive Basic Swedish is available as a summer course, and runs 4 weeks before the autumn semester starts (usually in August). Information is given by the coordinator at Uppsala University before the mobility starts. Basic Swedish is a course that runs throughout the semester (both autumn and spring) at a study pace of 25 %. You apply when the mobility has started and you have arrived in Uppsala.
