It has been a busy month, I have been on restricted duties following a minor operation, Rachel and Guy have been doing there best to cover the shortfall with the assistance of our colleagues from the Downton beat.and I need to thank them It should be noted that we have had a high number of domestic incidents reported to us this month that cannot be displayed for obvious reasons.

Untaxed Vehicles

We can all now check if vehicles are legal and if not how to report them to the DVLA. The websites are clear and easy to use, requiring only the basic detail:

 To check if a vehicle is on the road legally, you just need the vehicle registration and make, then this enter the data on: https://www.vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ for an immediate result.

 If e vehicle is not on the road legally (no tax or MOT and thus no insurance, or is 'SORN' (a Statutory Off the Road Notification), then you can report it anonymously to the DVLA using the following website, if you saw it on a public road: https://forms.dft.gov.uk/report-an-untaxed-vehicle/. To do so you will need the following information:  Vehicle Registration Number  Car make  Model and colour (your initial query from above will give you that)  The last seen vehicle location details (address or road etc) and the approx time you saw it, or when you see it in use.  Comments. You can add any additional detail you like, or just leave blank.
