Software / Medical Domain Knowledge Engineer Entry Level to Senior Level Opportunities Computer-Aided Diagnosis & Therapy Solutions Group Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc.

Multiple open positions for candidates with a M.Sc. degree (or graduating soon) or different degree with equivalent experience to perform configuration and development of medical data mining applications. This position involves learning and encoding medical domain knowledge in data mining applications as well as implementing/prototyping new data mining algorithms. We seek outstanding candidates, with knowledge in application and algorithm development, familiarity with data mining, and high level of critical thinking to bring successful resolution to high- impact and cross-functional problems. Experience at interacting in a medical environment would be highly desirable but not required. A person hired for this position is expected to work closely with medical institution’s IT departments, and internally with Scientists, Software Development Engineers, and Program Managers to develop and customize applications that meet customer needs. The candidate is expected to participate in research and writing papers in collaboration with research scientists, software engineers and other medical or IT personnel. This job will involve travel time not to exceed 50%. Qualifications:  M.Sc. in computer science or related discipline (different degree with equivalent experience also possible), knowledge of data mining. Medical and/or NLP knowledge is a plus.  Excellent communication skills.  Software skills must include Java, XML, SQL / working with databases.
