5th PINJORE HERITAGE FESTIVAL - 17th TO 19th December, 2010

Sh. Jagannath Pahadia, Hon’ble Governor of Haryana was received by Sh. O.P.Jain Tourism, Hospitality, Transport & Civil Aviation Minister Haryana, Dr. Maha Singh, Financial Commissioner & Principal Secretary, Tourism, Haryana, Sh. S.N.Roy, Managing Director, Haryana Tourism, Mrs. Ashima Brar, Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula, Dr. S.S.Phulia, Addl Managing Director, Haryana Tourism, Sh. Manish Choudhary, Superintendent of Police, Panchkula besides other senior officers of the District Administration & Haryana Tourism in a traditional style, reminiscent of the Mughal times. The gardens wore a festive look at its best with the Mughal heritage illuminated to show its glorified past. The flavour of the floral décor was specially planned to give the entire stretch an ethnic look. He was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony of 5th Pinjore Heritage Festival at Yadavindra Gardens. He was escorted to the entire stretch of Mughal Gardens and took keen interest in the on going restoration work of the Heritage of Pinjore Gardens.. He applauded the efforts of Tourism Department and District Administration for restoring the old glory of these Heritage Mughal Gardens.

Sh. O.P.Jain, Tourism Minister while welcoming the Chief Guest stated that the Heritage Festival has proved to be a unique platform for promotion of art & crafts amongst the tiny tots. A number of competitions were held for children like Fancy Dress and Sudoku, Mehandi Competition, Pankhi Decoration Competition, Painting Comnpetition, Face-Painting Competition, Matka Decoration Competition.Group & Solo Dance Competition. The children were suitably awarded for their laudable efforts. Similarly, a Tambola for the ladies and the families in the evenings was organized to keep everyone involved.

Sh. Jain thanked the Governor for giving his kind support for the promotion of Tourism in the State. He further stated that when the Governor visited during the 4th Heritage Festival, he promised to support the various projects for the Promotion of Tourism and proudly announced that he had fulfilled all his promises by suitably guiding Haryana Tourism in its various projects. He further stated that the very presence of the Governor becomes a source of encouragement for him and his entire team. He expressed that his support for the Heritage Festival proved that Haryana Tourism is heading towards new heights. He applauded the efforts of Dr. Maha Singh, Financial Commissioner & Principal Secretary, Tourism, Haryana, Sh. S.N.Roy, Managing Director, Haryana Tourism and their entire team for making this Heritage Festival a big success with the help of District Administration, Panchkula, Department of Culture, Haryana and Information and Public Relations Department, Haryana. The further stated that Haryana Tourism is organizing such events, fairs & festivals without the help of the event managers, which is a commendable effort.

All this was not possible without the support of the Print and Electronic Media who had tirelessly covered the entire event and put this festival on the International Map, he further stated.

He expressed that fortune of the State of Haryana have changed on Ch. Bhupinder Singh Hooda becoming the Chief Minister of State six years ago and the State had progressed immensely under his dynamic leadership. He has thanked the Chief Minister for his able support for the various projects of his departments.

The Governor congratulated Haryana Tourism for the success of Pinjore Heritage Festival. He further complemented the authorities for making it an annual event. He has assured his full support for the upcoming Tourism Projects in the State. He had expressed that the promotion of Tourism is the main stay for the development of the State. He had expressed that Pinjore Heritage Festival has not only promoted this part of Haryana in India & abroad but also contribute to the development of this area besides restoring ancient heritage of these famous Mughal Gardens.

Later in the evening, the Governor witnessed the ‘Cultural sandhya’ where “Sham-E-Ghazal” by famous Jaipur Gharana’s Ustad Ahmed Hussain & Ustad Mohmed Hussain enthralled the capacity crowd.

Ahmed Hussain and Mohammed Hussain is ghazal singers from Jaipur, capital of Rajasthan state in India. Ahmed and Mohemmad Hussain are two brothers who sing classical ghazals. Born in Rajastan as sons of the famous ghazal and thumri singer Ustad Afzal Hussain, the duo touches genres like Indian classical music and bhajan as well as ghazal. They started their singing career in 1958 [1] as classical and thumri artists. Their first album Guldasta was released in 1980 and was successful. Since then they have released about 50 albums. They attempted popularizing their music by turning to tempo music in Maan bhi ja. Ustad Ahmed and Mohemmad Hussain are a unique phenonmenon in the world of ghazals. They are two brothers who sing ghazals together. They have a classical background and sing ghazals in the good old classical style. Their sons Javed Hussain, Mazzam Hussian and Imran Hussain are also singer.

They have recently released a new album "Khwab Basera" under Saregama label. Album contains selected Ghazals from Dr. Hariom's "Dhoop Ka Parcham" as well as some new ghazals.

They were bestowed upon Sangeeth Natak Academy award in 2000
